Chapter 6
AS DEREK AND THE TWINS led me up to the Plaza, I laid out the whole event between Theresa and me. The twins of course, cheered me on, and said that she deserved it. Derek said nothing about it, mostly shocked that I actually got into a fight with someone. He’s known me as the shy, keep-to-herself type of girl. I understood why he was so shocked, and surprised to find that I have been suspended. Especially sense I was such a stick-to-the-rules student.
Markus and Jordan took me to the kitchen, saying that we were going to celebrate. Derek of course butted in, and told them that I’d have to change out of my wet clothes first. I started to protest, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He turned to Jazmine, and my heart sank. She was the same size as I was, and I knew exactly what Derek was going to do.
“Jazz, could Rae borrow some of your clothes?” he asked. Jazmine glared over at me, one hand on her hip, the other holding her cell phone.
“The grungy style looks so good on her though, better even.” She said, in a sweet innocent voice. I knew it was meant as an insult, but Derek was too dense to see it that way.
“But she’s wet, and she can get sick.” Derek said. I wanted to slap him, instead I face palmed my forehead. He was such an idiot at times.
“I don’t have any spare clothes.” Jazmine said, flipping her hair over her shoulder, going back to texting. Derek laughed in response.
“Don’t kid with me, I saw you lug up those clothes to the closet. Wasn’t your excuse something like, ‘I ran out of room in my closet, so I’m putting some in here.’ Yeah, I’m pretty sure.” Derek said, smirking at her. Jazmine, glared at him.
“They won’t fit her.” She tried. Derek looked her up and down, then sighed.
“Just give her something to wear.” He said. Jazmine began to refuse, when the twins interrupted.
“Come on Jazz, she’d do the same thing for you.” Markus said.
“Yeah, just a small little favor.” Jordan added.
Jazmine looked at me, looking me over with a disgusted look on her face. I gave her an innocent smile, which seemed to only piss her off. She looked at Derek, who smiled at her a little seductive. She looked back at me, and looked over me once more. She then smirked at me, and took a few steps closer to Derek, so she was right up to him.
“Fine, but you owe me.” She said, running her finger down his torso. He only nodded, and she crooked her finger at me, ordering me to follow her.
I followed her into one of the rooms, and looked back glaring at Derek, who had that stupid goofy look on his face. I rolled my eyes, and walked into the room. Jazmine flicked on the light, and locked the door behind her. I blinked a few times to readjust my eye sight.
The room was huge, bigger than my whole apartment, with hardwood floors. There was a Queen sized bed on the side, with a huge canopy. Huge chestier drawers sat against the wall near the door, along with a mirror. On the opposite side of the room were two couches facing each other, sitting on top of a beige carpet, with a wide coffee table sitting in between the couches. Past the couches were two doors.
Jazmine walked towards those doors, opening them up revealing a walk in closet. My jaw hit the floor, and my eyes widened. Soft light shined inside, illuminating the clothes that hung there. Jazmine motioned for me to come closer and I did, gawking at all the clothes. She rolled her eyes at me, but turned away, searching through the clothes.
After about three minutes she tossed some clothes at me.
“Try those on.” She said, shoving me into the closet, and closing the door on me. I looked up at the pile of clothes, afraid that they’d fall on me, but I shook of the idea, and undressed.
