Lucas eagerly led me to a table where we could eat and talk privately. The table had caught my attention- the smooth glass that is rarely seen in the world, with small Emerald crystals on the edges. "What is someone tries to steal the emeralds?", I had asked Lucas, "Only a fool would attempt to steal it. You see those statues? They're guardians." I looked around, statues everywhere, still, but supervising the place.

A waitress offered us a glass of non-alcoholic wine. Lucas and I agreed to take it. I took a sip fot he wine as Lucas looks into my eyes and adoring my blue eyes" I love your eyes., I wish I can have them." I had blushed to his compliment, "Thanks...., the color comes from..., my dad...,."

Just as I was going to take another sip, the waitress appeared again with food. Just as I had desired, a grilled chicken breast salad made to my perfection with Ranch, oil and vinegar, and green peppers, cucumber and olives. The vegetables I like, and I smiled. Lucas got himself a regular hamburger with fries.

I started eating the salad, enjoying the tasteful chicken breast coated with the dressings, Lucas noticed that I was enjoying the salad. "The waitresses are psychic. They already know what you want and the chefs here make it." I saw a shadow at the corner of my eye, but I had ignored it. I was interested in knowing Lucas more.

"How were you a hybrid? If I may ask."I said to Lucas shyly. Lucas in turn replied, "My dad was a dark angel, meaning he used to be an angel until he was sent in a holy war and fled from the battle with fear. My mom was a fallen angel, don't mix these two up, she still has the white angel wings, but in the trial to earning God's trust to heaven is a challenge for her. She's forbidden to return since she had intercourse with my dad, but she can still aid  angels, and it helps reduce the sentence of her leaving Heaven."

I stared at him, marveled at what he said. "Interesting right? The thing is, I can switch to three forms: fallen angel, dark angel and demon, but all three have different abilities. Ms. Grant is a fallen angel, and a magician. Her father is a fallen angel, and her mother is a magician."

His words were marvelous, and his eyes went from green to gray.  You could say  that my lunch is great so far, but that doesn't mean my life became perfect.

I gazed off for a moment, and Lucas looked at me and said, "What's the matter?" I blinked several times to pay attention to Lucas and said, "Oh nothing..., just staring off, having a moment." Lucas was worried for a moment, but he was able to tell that whatever caused me to stare off, wasn't a huge deal.

The bell rung, signaling the end of the day. I threw my salad away and grabbed my book bag and headed to the exit with Lucas. The hallways were filled with people leaving school.

Ms. Grant passed by and said, "Have a great afternoon boys, see you tomorrow." And she was out of our sight.

Lucas had asked me if I wanted to come over and I said, "Sure" and smiled. Once we stepped foot out of school, Lucas and I walked to his home. The first day of school, made a new friend and now being closer to him, and away from drama, I feel accepted and welcomed for the first time.
