Chapter 12

"Seth" Again, the distorted voice rings in my ear. "Seth! Wake up!" I recognized the voice and I open my eyes to Lucas next to the bed I'm laying on.

I feel a sudden excruciating pain on my back and I moaned in pain. "Where am I?" I looked around, there are many beds and there were 4 glass chandeliers, each a different color: blue, green, red, and yellow, all so big and magnificent with their individual colors. All of the chandeliers turned blue for the moment.

"You're in the nursery room", Lucas had informed me. I looked at him and I see a bruise on his cheek. I frowned to seeing him with a bruise and I caressed his other cheek. His face flushed red to the touch of my hand, my face began to feel warm and I pull my hand away before my face could become red.

"Ah. You're finally up. You had me concerned." Ms. Grant spoke as she walked in from the entrance, holding a medicine bottle in her hand.

She kept walking to my bed and said, "I brought you some medicine to help you recover quicker. Any day of you not being able to train allows you to become more and more vulnerable to any danger around you."

I looked at the medicine in disgust and Lucas smirked at my reaction. He took the bottle and took a pill out and handed a glass for me.

I never was the one to like medicine, whether it may be pills or potions. I guess you can say the doctors never gave me any tasteful medicine when I was sick.

Lucas stuck his tongue out towards me to taunt me and I pulled his tongue and he tried to pull back. He had to use his free hand to break my grip of his tongue. "Ow..." He moaned silently in pain.

I smirked to him and I took the pill with the glass of water. "Well, seems like you've made some progress with the recovery, I would like to you see you in my office first thing tomorrow morning."

"Tomorrow morning?" I asked, bewildered.

"Yes. Tomorrow morning. You're staying he night here, don't worry, I'm picking your sister up today and I have permission to do so from your mother. She'll spend the night at my house. Is that okay?" Ms. Grant asked.

I looked at her and nodded, "Yes, that's fine. Just be very careful with her, she's shielded from what we know, and especially after what happened in the gym, I don't want any more drama."

Ms. Grant smiled in assurance, "She will be fine dear. I'm a teacher here and you're my trainee. I know how to handle my business." She headed out the door and looked back. "Until tomorrow Seth."

I smiled back at her and she closed the door. A purple line began surrounding the windows followed by a blue line a distance away from the purple line.

"Don't worry. Ms. Grant is casting two protection spells, and the best part is that they strengthen each other and have even more strength from our energies. A lot more effective when the energies they are protecting are pure.

I was once again mesmerized by what Lucas had been saying. I've yet to find all the spells Ms. Grant knows about and to learn them.

I try to sit up, little by little and my body is still in complete pain. Lucas had grabbed me from my back to help me lift myself up. I was finally comfortable in the position I was and I stared into Lucas' eyes for the first time. His eyes are a pretty color of brown, but I see much more than just the color of his eyes. I see potential, but something else. I see life in him, and I see him smiling to me now that he has his eyes focused on mine.

We have our own moment of just staring until we heard a rustling noise around and Lucas looked around to see if anyone was around.

The rustling noise was constant and it calmed down again. I hear whistling, but it wasn't a human whistling or anything like that. It was the wind, and the rustling continued.

"It's the wind, that's causing the whistling noise." I told Lucas. He sat back down. I finally took a look around the room and I happen to just notice that he and I are alone in this place.

"You need some rest Seth. Go back to sleep." Lucas had insisted. "But you need it too."

"Not as much as you do" Go to sleep, I'll keep watch for a while and we can take turns watching for the night.

"Are you sure Lucas?" I asked in concern.

"Yes, I'm sure." He assured me. He reached over to lay me back down and pulled the sheets up.

"Goodnight Lucas." I reached over to kiss him on the cheek.

His cheek flushed red and said, "Goodnight Seth." He reached over and kissed my cheek in return, and I fall asleep peacefully.
