The late bell rang as I sat down at a desk in the corner away from the teacher. I started observing the classroom as the teacher went with the class roll... Johnson. Kelly. Lambert. Moore. The teacher called all but mine.

The teacher counted the people and noticed she didn't call my name, "Excuse me sir. Are you in the right class?" She asked so kindly. In response I said, "Yes, I recently transferred here yesterday." The teacher nodded and asked for my name. I replied, "Seth Rivera-Gomez." For a moment, a lot people looked at me, murmurs here and there, "He's the son of the dead veteran... I heard he can be brutal as his father..."

I realized that my dad was known to these idiots, the teacher introduced herself to the class and mentioned her name, "Ms. Grant" Ms. Grant... not pronounced as the regular Grant, but like the British pronunciation of Grant.

She was able to maintain the class behavior better than most teachers I had. Every once in a while she'd make eye contact with me, at some moments, I feel as if she is watching, yet as if she was stalking, and having that desire to talk to me. For some bizarre reason, I feel as if I know her already, but I can never be sure.

Just as she had my full attention, I saw an orb shine on top of the board, and no one else can see it but me. Ms. Grant happened to notice the orb light and ignored it, and followed with her lesson.

The bell had rung, signaling the students to switch class. I was the last one to leave and Ms. Grant snapped her fingers, which made the orb transform to a creature that I've never seen. Big, bulky, muscular, yet so deceiving, as if it could be returned to human form.

I was marveled looking at Ms. Grant using her powers so easily, yet I needed to improve my abilities. The figured seemed to be a demon form, but Ms. Grant said that it is a hybrid, but in it's demon form. The demon had turned itself to a human, a guy it seemed, about my height, a bit muscular, his blonde hair matched his green eyes, his eyes seem to appall me, and he seemed to be around my age also, but he used magic to hide himself.

I couldn't believe it, right in my own eyes, magic, not like the lame ass sorry magic that idolizers do, but the real deal, magic, demons, angels, and I wanted to find out what school this is, but..., but.., I'm so astonished, I never knew that there were others like me. Ms. Grant explained that she used to be my father's best friend in this exact school. But, one thing was missing, she didn't mention his name, actually, no one ever did. I stood there in astonishment and said, "Is this actually Riveredge High?"

The demon who turned to human form replied, "Yes, but in our world it's actually called "Leon's Militare" , where irregular people can can attend, to the mortal's, it's know as Riveredge. A lot of students want to attend here, but only a few humans are allowed. By they way, my name is Lucas, nice to meet you." He stretched his arm out to shake my hand and I hesitated, but Lucas said, "Don't worry, I'm a hybrid, part angel, part demon." Just when he explained himself, I shook his hand.

I was still confused at the moment, but I had a better understanding. I asked Lucas if he was the one I saw earlier in the hallway, sadly he said no. "There are actual entities here, some are good, some are bad." Ms. Grant said.

The bell had rung for lunch dismissal. "Oh, it's lunch time, come on Seth, let's go together!" Lucas eagerly said. Ms. Grant had signaled me that it's okay to go, "Don't worry, I'll explain the teachers that you stayed with me, you won't be in trouble, I'm a minister for this school. I'll switch you to have the whole day with me."

I had smiled with a real emotion for the first time. Lucas lead me out from her room and lead me to the commons (cafeteria), to have lunch with him. The hallways were marvelous with sculptures and paintings. I've yet to discover the school, and finally a friend that I can talk to anytime, anywhere.., for now....,
