Pic of Taylor over there ----->
*Taylor's POV*
"Taylor....Taylor, wake up!" A small voice whispered in my ear.
I let out a groan as I sat up in bed.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLOR!"
I jumped, but a smile spread over my face as I saw my parents and my brother, Cameron, standing next to my bed holding presents and cards.
My name is Taylor Parks, and I live in Littleton in Colorado. I have long dark brown, almost black hair and blue eyes, I'm around 5'6 and today I was turning 18!
Unfortunately, my smile faltered as I questioned my mother, "Mom, do I still have to go to school today? Can't I just have a day off because it's my birthday?"
"I'm sorry, Tay, but you can't miss your last day of school before graduation! Even if it is your birthday." My mother replied while sighing.
"Urgh," I groaned as I remembered this was my last full day of school. Even though I'm a junior, I'm classed as a 'whiz-kid' so I'm graduating early. Honestly, I can't wait to get out of that hell-hole, but the thought of facing the sly remarks at school once more was too upsetting.
"Mom, can't I stay off? Pretty please?" I gave my mother my infamous puppy-dog eyes which ALWAYS get me what I want.
"Those eyes aren't working on me today, missy." My mother said while tapping me lightly on the nose and smirking. "Now, enough arguing, let's celebrate your birthday!"
I laughed as a large box was shoved into my hands. I ripped off the colourful wrapping paper to reveal a huge pile of clothes in a box. I beamed a huge smile as I hugged my brother who had bought me the presents.
After around 30 minutes of continuous unwrapping and looking through hundreds of cards from distant relatives in different countries, I only had 2 presents left: one was a small box, and the other was a card.
I decided to open the box first.
"This is off your mother and I, Taylor. Now, I know you've been waiting for this for a long time, so we really hope you like it." My dad said while sending a small smile to my mother.
I ripped the paper in anticipation and stared at the object in front of me. A small, black box. I shook it to hear the jangles of bells, or possibly keys. I slowly opened the box to find a pair of car keys hidden inside.
"YOU GOT ME A CAR?!" I screamed in happiness.
"Yeah! Happy birthday, sweetheart!" My mom laughed as I engulfed her in a bone-crushing hug.
After I'd hugged my dad, I ran outside in my pyjamas, only to abruptly stop and stare in astonishment at the vehicle I saw before me.
On my driveway was a bright blue VW Beetle.
I screamed once again and ran back inside to hug my parents.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love it!" I shouted as I stuffed my face into my dad's chest.
My dad laughed, "No problem, you're worth it."
I walked into the kitchen ready to have breakfast when I realised I still had one card left to open.
"Everybody wait! I have one last card to open!"
I noticed my family exchange worried and sad glances at each other as I went upstairs to grab the card.
I came back downstairs and sat in the living room with my family. I peeled the adhesive off the card and looked at it.
'Happy Birthday! We're Thinking of You!'
