Okay, story time!! Last night, having just read the latest chapter of her Star Wars fanfic "Recovered" (WHICH YOU SHOULD GO READ BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME) I was chatting with Superkate-Studios. I forget on a regular basis to check if books have been updated, but having read the chapter reminded me to do so, and I found myself reading and looking at some posts on her art book around midnight.

Then, I came across THIS awesome piece of artwork:

And I figured, "Hey. I have a cranky old version of Photoshop right here on my laptop that I sort of know how to use. I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING LIKE IT!!!"

This sort of idea is known as a case of Midnight Idea Craziness.

It was the first time I've ever tried something like this. I wasn't sure if my own thing was going to work out or not, but I sort of knew what to do, so I decided to go for it. After all, there's nothing you can't do when it's the middle of the night, am I right? XD

I used this EG base that I found online, which is so fittingly of a girl writing,

and turned it into a representation of myself. So now, without further ado, here it is!!!

The text and signature I did in Preview.

In the picture, I'm wearing my favorite pair of shorts and my cute blue shirt I bought on shopping night during a school trip, as well as my locket with the Rebellion symbol on it, although that isn't so easy to see. I also did a little bit of shadowing, but I didn't really go to town.

I know the hair for this particular style is more smooth and manicured, but I decided to make it more like my hair really is in real life, which is mostly straight (AND REALLY LONG AND THICK, the length in the picture is not exaggerated at all) but has little waves and curls here and there, as well as some tiny little pieces I can never convince to flatten down.

The eyes aren't exactly the same color as mine (which are a lot darker) but at that point I was getting lazy and just decided not to care XD

So there you have it!! It probably took about 2 and a half hours on and off to finish, and it was a really fun exercise. I'll have to try it again some other time :)

Anyways, I'm leaving for two weeks of wifi-and-laptop-less-ness tomorrow morning, (so no updates until I get back, sorry) but I'm going to see what I can get updated while I finish my packing and stuff. See ya!!

May the Force be with you,

Sharron
