NO I WAS JUST KIDDING DON'T GO!!! It's okay, I don't bite. Most of the time, anyways.
This is just a dumb little book that will be filled with dumb little drawings and a few ABSOLUTELY AWESOME MASTERPIECES, when the Force is with me.
The idea behin...
Sooooo... this technically happened back in March, but this is the good copy and I drew it today, so yeah XD
The story behind the art you're about to see is this: back in March (it was somewhere around the 15th, I think), shortly after seeing Moana for the first time, I was bored in class. So, having nothing better to do (lies) I drew Ahsoka as Moana in my school planner.
That got me thinking: wouldn't that be an amazing AU? And I was struck by how much the characters were alike: Ahsoka could be Moana, Anakin could be Maui, and Padme... well, you'll just have to read on and see...

(In case you can't read my crap handwriting:
ANAKIN: I'm... sorry.
ANAKIN: I have no excuse.
PADME: Oh, Ani...
PADME: How many times must I tell you?
PADME: There is no need to steal that which already belongs to you.)
So the basic storyline behind the illustration goes like this (which is not at all accurate to the movie or the actual legend):
As a very young child, Anakin's father was killed on a seafaring voyage by raiders, and his village, believing him and his mother to be cursed, chased them out. For two years they roamed the open ocean, stopping only occasionally on land to find food. But then, when Anakin was three, the raiders found them again. Anakin's mother, knowing they would be killed when the raiders finally caught up with them, put him in a basket and set him adrift in the ocean, praying it would look after him.
It did, and it wasn't long before he washed up on the shores of a magical island where the astral forms of many gods and goddesses lived. They cared for him until he was old enough, giving him divine strength and powerful gifts, and then sent him back to the human realm to make their lives better. Anakin, who thought very lowly of himself because of his inability to save those he cares about, accepted, hoping to finally earn the respect of those who had once thought he was nothing and cast him out.
In the time he was being raised to complete his task, he fell in love with the kindest, most beautiful goddess of them all: Padme, the Mother Of All. He was drawn to her kindness and her spirit, but mostly to how she wanted nothing more than to give; to create. As he grew older, he grew more bold, and eventually resolved to win her affections.
But (as far as he knew) his attempts to woo her had no effect. They were not rebuked, but they were not encouraged, either. This caused Anakin to become bitter, because it was as though someone else he loved was far beyond his reach. He dedicated himself wholeheartedly to helping the human race to hide the pain from everyone, even himself.
But it wasn't enough. He felt that he would not win her heart any other way, so he decided to take it from where her physical form lay asleep. He made himself believe that it was for humanity's good, and that he would be sharing the power to create with them, when it was really to keep for himself.
After it was taken, Padme went into a rage, furious, but at the same time heartbroken, that the one whom she had slowly fallen in love with as well would betray her so. After her heart was lost to the ocean and Maui trapped on a tiny island, she would haunt his dreams, telling him over and over again, "There is no need to steal what already belongs to you."
Sadly, however, he never learned the truth behind her words -- that he didn't need to steal her heart because she already loved him, and, as a result, it belonged to him -- until after a determined, spunky girl named Ahsoka convinced him to embark on a quest to make Padme whole again...
I might turn this into a full-blown fanfic eventually, so I CALL DIBS ON THE IDEA GUYS
More sketches are most likely to follow in the same vein, probably the originals to this comic and a few more scenes from the movies altered to fit this AU. (Hopefully with Anakin drawn better, the proportion is off in the last panel, and don't have the patience to put effort into those tattoos to save my life other than the circuit-board-y ones to symbolize his mechanical hand XD)
And Padme's hair, as worth it as it was, was SUCH a pain to draw. My friends are always asking why I draw so small, it's because I get to skip or at least limit detail work like curly hair! I also tried to get a sort of dress-fading-into-skin thing around her neck, but the same goes as before: I rarely ever have the patience for anything super detailed when drawing comics, there's always another panel to move on to...
Anyways, I'm going to work on the next few chapters of UAAT now. I'm hoping to be finished this episode arc by Tuesday or Wednesday, so I'd best get to work. See you guys in the next update!
