Have you had those moments you have felt so guilty you would do anything to make the guilt go away?
Absolutely anything?
The fact that my parents knew that I was going to be absent and gladly gave me permission made me guiltier.
A squeeze from Matt’s hand interrupted my thoughts, “are you alright,” he asked concerned.
I nodded, sending him a fake smile which he bought.
“By the way, you look amazing,” he complimented me, making my blush.
“Thank you,” I mumbled shyly, tucking a strand of my light brow curls behind my ear to show off the ruby red heart studs. “You don’t look bad yourself,” I commented.
“I know, I do look hot,” he grinned cockily, popping his collar. I rolled my eyes but laughed nonetheless. “Thank you though for that unexpected yet flattering compliment,” he said in a genuine tone.
“You’re welcome,” I muttered surprised at his last words.
Afterwards we didn’t talk. The song ‘The Other Side’ by Jason Derulo played on the radio, filling in the silence.
‘In the beginning,
I never thought it would be you’
If someone told me that I would be Matt’s girlfriend when I first saw him in Costa I would have laughed in their face and then rang the nearest mental hospital to take them away to rehab.
‘Just take me to the other side’ even though I felt extremely guilty; I wanted Matt to lower me into the other side. I didn’t care about the consequences or the future. I was with Matt now and I wanted to make use of our time together.
Matt made me feel things, emotions that no one, no other man could make me feel.
‘I see that sexy look in your eyes’
That look was a huge turn on and it also made me feel good about myself, that a man like Matt had chosen someone unattractive like me to be with.
For the rest of the journey, both of us just listened to the songs on BBC radio 1. Matt concentrated on the phone whilst I fiddled with the red heart necklace and ruby red ring placed on my left middle finger.

“Jasmine,” I felt someone shake me. I groaned in annoyance as my eyes fluttered open.
I was greeted by Matt’s smile and I smiled back sleepily before letting out a huge yawn. “We’re here,” he announced causing me to sit up straight, already undoing my seatbelt.
