Hey I decided to delete off my old chapter and rewrite it so here it is! And I want to dedicate this chapter to chatt3rb0x for making my book cover. I’m going to alternate the book cover between hers and another one. i will upload the 2 chapter later.
I just kept running. I didn’t know where I was heading. All I knew that I must keep running. I knew they were back. As I got deeper into the woods, I could hear the patter of my footsteps getting louder. I was losing my breath rapidly. I knew that I can’t keep up anymore. Suddenly there weren’t a sound. No rustlings. Nothing. I assumed they gave up searching for me.
As I walk a few distances forward, I saw a silhouette. “Well well well… look who we have here? Do you want me to bring you home?” it said. Fear gripped my heart. “No. It’ okay. I was umm… just taking a walk in this forest.” I replied. “Wrong answer” he said as he lounged at me with a blade.
I woke up with a start. For days, I have been having nightmares. Some were unwanted memories. Slowly I got up and look at the time. “Shoot.” I was late. It was already 7.45 and school starts at 8. Quickly scrambling out of the bed, I rushed to the toilet and managed to get done in 10 minutes. Wow. New world record. I put on my jacket and grabbed my keys. I so did not want to be late for first day of school. Yes. First day of school. For months I have been running with them hot on my heels. Finally I settled here in Carolina. Peaceful and beautiful.
Speeding on my beauty bike, I managed to reach school with a few minutes to spare. With confidence I strutted into the school hallway to the office. I got my timetable and locker keys and text my bestie, Kate to meet me at my locker.
“Hey girl! Damn you look hot!”’ Kate teased me. “Wow Kate never knew you swing this way.” I winked at her. We laughed together and made our way to class. We were supposed to meet Claire, my other bestie, during lunchtime since she doesn’t have the same classes with us before lunchtime.
Kate and I caught stares from everyone in the class. What can I say? We are HOT. Well, it was time for me to start anew. Kate and Claire were my best friends since we’re in diapers. But unfortunately, they had to shift to elsewhere. For weeks I mooned alone. I lived alone for years. I heard I had a brother but I’m not sure. The people who took care of me said that they weren’t my real parents. That my real parents dropped me off at their doorsteps and disappeared. And apparently my brother isn’t with because of some reason that I can’t quite remember at the meantime. Oh well. I’m better off alone.
As I sashayed my way to the table next to Kate’s, I felt like someone was staring at me. But I wasn’t quite sure. Kate and I were having an animated conversation until the door burst open and a guy came in. “I didn’t know there were any other newbies other than you” Kate whispered to me. But I wasn’t paying any attention to her.
No. Not him. It can’t be him. The guy sauntered past by me and smirked at me. The guy is none other than Chase. The one that I was trying to shrugged off. And now when I thought I finally got my peace, he gets send here by whoever is after me again. This must come to an end. But the thing is how?
