Jack
I was flying over a kingdom, looking for someone to bring fun to, when I felt it.
Something. Someone. They were drawing me towards the woods.
I flew towards the woods. I heard someone crying.
I landed and walked through some leaves. I saw a girl turn her head. She had long, blonde hair. Her green eyes were red from crying. Her cheeks had tear streaks.
She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.
And she seemed to see me.
How did I know this? She gasped and turned away, hugging her body. I then realized she was naked!
"Oh man! I'm sorry!" I exclaimed, turning around, putting my back towards her.
"Y-You aren't g-going to pass through m-me too, are y-you?" she gasped, trying to recover her breath.
I almost turned. Someone passed through her? Like me?
"I think you might be a spirit. I'm Jack Frost. I'm a winter spirit. Lots of people pass through me because they don't believe in me."
I took off my sweat shirt and tossed it back.
"Can I turn around now?" I asked.
"Yes."
I turned and saw her still sitting on the ground. Her legs were crossed, but the sweatshirt covered most of her body. I sat down across from her.
"I didn't see anything I wasn't supposed to," I said, trying not to sound creepy.
The girl nodded. She looked around my age, 18, that is.
"I'm Rapunzel. This used to be my home," she said, gesturing to the cinders all around.
"What happened?" I asked.
"This used to be a tall, tall tower. I lived up in it with my mother. She would never let me leave.
"Yesterday she had gone to the market before I was up. I had put breakfast in the oven, but I accidentally fell asleep. There was a fire. I must have died in the fire.
"I heard the Moon tell me I wasn't going to die, but I must be dead. My body's right over there." She pointed to a section of the ruins.
"I woke up this morning as Mother came back. She ran right through me. She dug up my body.
"She didn't care that I was dead. She only cared about my hair."
"Why did she only care about your hair?" I asked.
"My hair is magical. When I sing a special song, it glows. It can bring you back into your youth or heal you."
I must have had a wierd look on my face because she started to laugh.
"What happened to your mother?" I asked, trying to get the attention off of me.
"She must have been older than I thought. Before me, there was a magical flower she used. When my body's hair turned brown, she turned to dust."
I sat there for a moment, taking in the story.
"Well, you must be a spirit, because the Man in the Moon kept you alive, in a way," I added quickly, seeing her glaring look.
"C'mon Punzie. Do you mind if I call you that?" Punzie shook her head, "We are going to see North."
I took out my snowglobe. She looked at me, confused.
"North's workshop," I whispered. I threw the globe, grabbed Punzie's hand, and stepped through the portal.
