Unfortunately, dear readers, this is the last chapter of the book. It's been amazing writing this and I've loved all the positive feedback. I hope you will reread this book and I hope it will bring smiles to all of you. :)
Jack
White light surrounded me. Pure, white light. I opened my eyes and found myself looking at a lot of whiteness.
"Jack?" came a beautiful voice. A girl clothed in white stood in front of me. She looked familiar, almost like...
"Punzie?" I said. She smiled. Her hair was brown instead of blonde. I realized I was sitting in a chair and stood up. She rushed towards me, arms open.
"Oh Jack, don't you ever scare me like that again!" Punzie said, voice muffled by my shirt, which was also white.
"Why is everything white?" I asked. Punzie shrugged.
"I think the others are over there," she said. Before she could pull away, I kissed her on the cheek. She blushed as we started walking. It turned out the whiteness formed walls and doors. We finally found Mer and Hic, walking hand in hand.
"Guys!" Mer exclaimed.
"Are we dead?" Hic asked, earning a giggle from Mer.
"JACK, RAPUNZEL, MERIDA, AND HICCUP, PLEASE REPORT TO THE MAIN HALL!" a voice boomed.
"I think we are supposed to report to the main hall," I said. Punzie giggled.
When we arrived at the main hall, I nearly fell over. A man stood there, waiting for us. Could it really be..?
"Man in Moon," I breathed out. He smiled and nodded.
"Hello. Before I do anything else, I must apologize for everything. The Necromancer somehow blocked my view of the world. By the time I could see again, well, Rapunzel was taking care of the problem.
"I know you are wondering where you are. This is my home. The other guardians have already gone back to the earth. I am going to give you this decision, you can either pass on to the afterlife or you can go back to the earth and officially become a guardian."
We were all silent as we looked at each other. Do we stay on earth? Do we continue on to the afterlife, like we were supposed to? In a split second, we made our decision.
"Earth," I said.
"Earth," Punzie said, smiling at me. I was all too happy to smile back.
"Earth," Mer said.
"Earth," Hic said.
"As you wish. Good luck to you all. And goodbye." If this was possible, more whiteness surrounded us. I blinked and found that we were back in North's workshop, wearing our old clothes.
"My hair is still brown," Punzie pouted.
"Can you still make it glow?" Mer asked. Punzie started to sing, gasping when it turned golden and glowed. When she stopped singing, it went back to brown. Punzie gasped again when she found that she could still control the length.
"If you ask me, I think you look prettier as a brunette," I said. Punzie smiled.
"So, what now?" Hic asked. I could hear the other guardians coming closer.
"I guess, we just continue to live," Mer said.
With a smile, we turned towards the guardians that came through the door. Silently, I think we all thanked the Man in the Moon for giving us a second chance to live and love.
