Chapter 5

Rapunzel

After I healed Hiccup and Jack, they all stared at me, waiting for an explanation. Well, Jack already knew, but he hadn't seen my hair in action.

I took a deep breath.

"Something happened when I was born. My hair had a magical quality. When I sing a certain song, it glows and has the power to heal. It can also make you young again. If I cut my hair, it would lose its qualities.

"Mother had been using a magic flower before I was born to keep her young. She turned to dust when I died.

"So now, I can control the length I want it. I'm keeping it short now so it won't get in my way."

I exhaled. The other guardians moaned. They seemed to be coming to.

"Are you guys okay?" Jack said, rushing over to the guardians. The way his eyebrows scrunched together was really cute. Wait, why did I think that?

"Rapunzel, people in this world are cruel. They will try anything to hurt you," came sounding through my head. My mother often told me these things. But, that couldn't be right. I've been shown nothing but kindness.

"Oh, my head," Tooth moaned as she sat up. North was up and helping Bunny to his feet. Sandy was looking up at something. I followed his gaze.

"Guys? Should the moon be glowing that brightly?" I asked. The moon was shining as bright as it had when I died. I felt, drawn, almost, to it. Like, I could sit down and have a conversation with it.

Like the moon was my friend.

"Man in Moon," North said in a wondrous voice. "What are you going to tell us today?"

A great threat has been unleashed. The 4 new guardians will play an important role in this. The world hangs by a tread. Beware everything around you...

The last sentence echoed in my mind. Everything? I felt like I was back in the tower. Nothing is safe. It's like they say, out of the frying pan...

And into the fire.

AlissaDonkers here! Goodness, these chapters have been fun to write. I have way more typed up that I will be releasing soon. But only if you guys comment some good reviews. I suppose you can comment bad reviews, too. I mean, this is a free country.

Wait, is Canada a free country? I'm just south of good ol' Canada, but I don't know if they are a free people.

FYI, I'm wondering because at the bottom of the website it says MADE IN CANADA. Or something like that.
