Chapter Twenty

Lolly's Pov

   No... No this couldn't be... there was no way that he could be a crystal user... I thought that when I had destroyed everything that I had taken every single one of my clans men along with me. The branch families included.
   Suddenly Masamune ended his release stage and I looked at him shocked. Did he know who I was? Did he want to kill me? "So, since you so obviously want to lose in front of everyone let's go." He spat. I looked into his eyes and saw the raw emotion and hatred that was coming from him.
   I saw the years of loneliness and sadness deep within his eyes. I felt responsible for it and for all I knew I was responsible. "Well, come on." He taunted. Immediately my foggy eyes cleared and I glared at him. No matter what I would defeat him.
   Shooting foward I aimed a kick toward him but he brought his hand in front of him and with it created a green crystal barrier. I bounced off of it and then decided to work a different angle. Maybe if I tried it from a different approach I might be able to get around his defenses.
   So I began to run around him and while doing so I created three clones that circled him along with me. Then we came at him from all angles. It didn't matter though. He just whirled around with his hands away from him and then a huge vortex of green crystal slammed into me. 
   I cried out when suddenly the vortex puffed out spikes that speared all of my clones. I cried out as one of those crystal spikes hit me in the hip and went through bone and flesh. So there I hung suspended in the air.
   "Is this really the best you can give? What's the matter did your earlier fight tire you out?" Masamune taunted as he started to come toward me. I glared up at him and then quickly performed some hand signs. Suddenly I poofed away.
   I landed in the shadows and quickly performed a medical jutsu to heal my leg enough to where I would be able to move. Medical jutsu weren't my strong point but I made an effort to learn at least one or two of them.
   Once I was finished I sat there for a moment and thought over what I had learned about him. So far I knew that he could absorb any jutsu and then reuse it in a different way and that he was also a part of my clan. His parents were obviously a touchy subject and now I knew why. Unfortunately there wasn't really anything in what I had learned that would help me defeat him.
   "Sitting there thinking over things isn't going to keep you alive." Masamune called out as I suddenly saw glowing green crystal coming toward me. I cursed and leapt out of the way.
   The crystal kept coming after me and I could only just dodge him. He was far stronger and faster than I was with his crystal. I growled as some of it nicked me on the face.
   I leapt away once more and then landed down on the arena panting and running out of options quickly. 'Damn... what do I do? I'm running out of options quickly and that isn't good! If I don't do anything soon then he'll kill me... However if I use my own release then who knows what could happen. I don't want to win because I could order him to stop but...' I stood there looking at him as I panted and saw that he was beginning to breathe a bit heavier as well.
   I grinned, he was good with his crystal but apparently he wouldn't be able to keep it up for long. The way our clan worked was that we could control crystal like no one else but we had to use our own chakra to control it. There was no equivalency with controlling crystal. "Seems you can't control your crystal for long." I said.
   Masamune glared at me and then started to manipulate the crystal toward me. I grinned and then dodged it once more. Maybe if I just dodged him long enough he wouldn't be able to catch me in his trap.
   That proved easier said than done because he sent his crystal sailing at me from all directions and managed to cover me completely in it. I screamed and then began to beat at it while it continued to get tighter and tigher on me.
   I beat at it vigorously but I had no strength to crack it. 'So I'm really going to lose... I made it so far only to fall right before the finish line...'

"IF YOU GIVE UP NOW I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!" 

My eyes opened wide, 'Jinga?'
