CHAPTER 5

After how many days of craziness, I went back to my old self. Trying to keep thing on track. Doing things I used to do. In other words, make things normal again.

But, of course, my dad keeps on bugging me about the marriage. And Zac, well, he keeps on texting me, calling me. Like a boyfriend somehow.

Just like today, I received a text from him telling me that he'll pick me up at my shop then we'll have dinner. Since, I'm a good girl, I ignored his text... or maybe I should say his texts. 'Hmp! As if I care. Dream on boy!'

After ignoring his 7 messages. He called me.

"Yes?" I said with annoyed voice make him feel that I don't want to talk to him.

"Are you okay? You're not returning my mes-

"Zac, I'm a busy person. I can't reply to every messages I receive. But then, I'm sorry." I'm staying calm even if I want to yell at him and tell him that his not my boyfriend for him to demand anything.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm just worried. You don't reply. So I'm thinking if you are safe, if you're okay and if-

"I'm fine. Like what I said, I'm just busy. And I'm safe, I'm an adult, I can handle my self. Thank you."

"So, about the dinner. Are you free tonight?"

Oh, he asked that again. Come on Kath, think of an excuse.

"Uhmm... I'm kinda busy... I mean, really busy. So much busy. I think... Uhmm... I have something to do overnight. I have... have... many, so many things to finish."

"So you can't have dinner with me?"

'Obviously, I can't and I don't want to.' i said to myself.

"Yep. I'm really so sorry. Maybe ne-

"It's okay. I understand. I'll see you later then." and then he hung up.

Oh at last, It's done. Oh wait! What did he said? He'll see me later? How? Why? 'Maybe he was just wrong. Maybe he meant, tomorrow or the day after. Don't over think things Kath' now, I'm talking to my self. Aaargh! What's happening to me? I just decided to get back to my tasks and busy my self again.

There's knock on my door.

"Come in, Jess." i said while still working on my computer.

I heard the door opened.

"Who is Jess? A guy? Are you expecting some other guy to visit?"

I looked up and saw his face. Oh my! A good looking face!

"Z-zac?! W-what... what are you doing here?" What's happening to me? Why I'm stuttering? As if it's my first time to see him, to see a handsome guy.

"Hey, don't get me wrong. It's okay if other guys would visit you here. It's just that-

"Jess is my secretary. Jessica's her real name." I don't need to explain anything to him but there's a part of me wanting to explain.

He just nod and smiled to me and walk towards my direction. He stopped infront my desk, and stared at me as if waiting for me to say something. I looked at him puzzled, trying to analyze what he's trying to say or do. After how many seconds, he cleared his throat and speak,

"Would you mind if I seat here?" he asked pointing the chair infront my desk.

"Oh, I'm sorry, so rude of me. No, I don't mind. Go, take a seat."

"Thank you." he took the chair and carried it to my side.

"Z-zac, what are you doing?"

"Nothing. Just wanted to see what your doing." He smiled again to me. Oh goodness, he looks so different today. I don't know but there's something different about him.

"Are you going to stare at me all night? Because, I'd love that." he said with a chuckle.

Am I staring at him? It wasn't my intention to stare at him, was it? Oh no!

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm just thinking."

" Thinking about?"

"Uhmm... about... some stuff."

"Like?"

"Like... the... like, why you're here?"

"Oh, yeah. You said, you can't go with me tonight. So, I decided to go here and bring you your dinner." he said smiling

"You don't have-

"But I want to, baby"

'What? Me? Baby? You gotta be kidding me.'

"But I already had my din-

and my stomach growls. 'Stupid stomach. Yeah, I'm hungry but you don't have to let him know' I said to myself. He smirked at me,.knowing very well that I'm lying.

"You stomach's telling me otherwise."

He put a paper bag on the top of my desk. That's only when I noticed that he really brought me something.

"I hope you don't mind eating just burger and fries from a little diner. If you'll ask me why, well, it's fast. I mean, I was expecting you could go out with me and eat somewhere else but you said no, so-

"It's okay." I said smiling to him "No need for explanation. Actually, I missed eating this. And... I appreciate your effort" a smile came from his lips, smile that tells me, he's relieved that I appreciate his effort.

When I saw the paper bag, I saw the name of the diner and remembered something, someone.
