CHAPTER 21

I'm having second thought whether to tell him the truth or just make a story, a lie.

"A-adam, just... just don't mind it, okay? I was-

"Tell me. I wanna know." he insisted in a serious tone.

"I... can't tell you."

"And why not?"

"Okay, fine. I'll tell you, but, not now."

He sighed, "And why not now?"

"Adam. I... just... don't want to tell you."

He turned his back and walked out. The next thing I know, I followed him and hugged him from the back to stop him from walking.

"I... I don't want you to... think that I'm too desperate," as i said the words my mind is still not sure about what to do. Tell him or not? "and I don't want you to think that I'm just using you to escape my situation," me myself have a doubt to what I'm saying, 'cause I think, somehow, I am using him.

He turned around and faced me. His eyes looking into mine, waiting for me to continue what I'm saying.

I look down before I speak. I can't look at him.

"I'm... I'm trapped in something I don't like," I can feel that he's still looking at me "My dad wants me to marry someone." he narrowed his eyes, saying tell him the story straight. And that was what I did. I told him everything about the merger and the arranged marriage between me and Zac.

"That's why you wanted me to marry you. So, it's not because you would love to." he said with sad tone and disappointed face.

"No, no. I-It's not like that." I said with pleading eyes. Pleasing him to believe me.

"You know what, maybe, we could... sort this out when both of us have a clear mind," I wrinkled my forehead as I heard him said that. "because honestly, I don't know what to say. I not even sure if I'm reacting right." he continued. I just nod, and escorted him out.

I waited for him to get in his car before I go back inside my house.

"Bye, Adam." I waved.

"Bye." he nod.

When I was inside I exhaled loudly. Not sure if I did the right thing, to ask him that.

"What's happening to you Katherine!" I scold my self.

Now, I'm not sure if Adam will show up again. 'Cause he thought that I'm using him to escape. It's not yet clear to me if I really wanted to marry him soon. Confusion is not a good thing.

Since I wanted to give an update already, I tried to finish this chapter not sure if it's a good one. (well, I know it's not) Sorry again.
