Oh, what you're doing to me

I looked in the mirror of the fancy restaurant bathroom, trying to stop myself from thinking about specific past events.
Only when I noticed that my hands stopped shaking I decided to finally leave the bathroom.

I kept Bert waiting long enough now.

Stepping out of the bathroom I looked behind the plant again to see if Frank was still hiding behind it.
He wasn't there.
Instead he sat a few tables across from our booth, hiding his face behind a menu.

I almost laughed.
Did he really think that this would work out?

Man, was I glad that Bert took the seat at the front of the booth so he couldn't see what's behind him.

When I entered the small booth again I saw that our food had already been placed on our table.

"I'm sorry I took so long. There were a lot of people in the bathroom", I apologised and heard quiet snickering from outside.
Frank and I both knew it was a lie, we were the only ones in the bathroom but Bert wouldn't have to know about that.

"That's not a problem. The food came like... a minute ago so you're fine", Bert said smiling as I sat down in front of him, hungrily eyeing the food on my plate.

It looked fucking delicious.

And when Bert and I started eating, I could say that it tasted just as good as it looked

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The evening ended way too fast for my liking and soon the waitress brought a little book with the bill in it.
Bert payed for the food, even tho I told him that I wanted to pay for my own meal about a thousand times.
"It's a date after all", he said as he took my hand to lead me out of the restaurant and I couldn't hide the extreme blush that made its way onto my face
When we stepped out of the building the cold air made me shiver a bit but at the same time I was glad, because the heat in my cheeks just wouldn't go away by itself.
I took a deep breath, still holding Berts hand (which didn't help the situation at all) as we walked up to the car on the opposite side of the street.
Now Bert let go of my hand and I was almost going to complain about that, when I saw that he opened the door for me to get into the passenger seat.
What a Gentleman
I giggled and got into the car.
Bert closed the door and skipped over to the drivers seat to get in too.
Silence spread between the both of us and I was just about to ask why he wouldn't start driving when Bert said
"I had a lot of fun tonight"
He turned his head to look directly at me
I smiled
"Yes, it was the best evening I had in years. Thank you so much for that"
Bert just kept staring at my face for a few more seconds before he started the engine and didn't take his eyes off of the road anymore.
I didn't want to get out of the car when Bert pulled into the driveway of the big apartment block I was living in.
On the way here we were listening to some old "The Smiths" songs and sang along which sounded horrible by the way but neither of us cared much.
"So... there we are", Bert said when he stopped the car and turned his key around so the radio stopped playing
"Yeah... there we are", I repeated, still not getting out of the car.
"Would you mind if I bring you to your door? It's pretty dark and I want to make sure that you make it inside safe", it was cute how embarrassed Bert sounded right now and I couldn't help but giggle a bit.
"Make it inside safe?", I asked, giggling even more which made Bert blush for the first time this evening.
"I'd really like you to do so", I said and made Bert smile widely at me.
"Good then come on", Bert said and opened the door to get out.
Before I could do the same he was standing in front of the car window, opening the door for me.
"What a Gentleman", this time I actually said that out loud.
"Always try to be", Bert laughed, taking my hand in his and helping me out of the car.
Even when I was standing outside he didn't let go of my hand when we started to walk to the front door of the apartment block.
"You know...", Bert started when I was about to say goodbye to him as we stood at the metal door, "People say 'no kisses on the first date' but I thought that we could maybe break that r-..."
Before he could even finish his sentence I lifted my arms up to rest on his shoulder as I put my hand on his neck so I could bring his face close to mine.
"Sure", I whispered and closed the gap between us, pressing my lips against his.
Bert wasn't even suprised, at least it didn't seem like it when he responded immediately and began to such on my bottom lip.
He was really straight forward, tangling his hands in my hair and pulling me even closer and I didn't know if I should like that or not but decided to just go with it and move my lips against his.
After some seconds I moved a bit backwards to catch my breath and felt Berts eyes hungrily moving up and down my body
When he leaned in to kiss me again I put my hands on his shoulders to stop him
"I-I think we should take things a bit... slower", I stuttered suddenly feeling a bit unconfortable under Berts stare
"I'm sorry did I do something wrong?", he asked quickly taking his hands from my waist where he was holding me only a few seconds ago
"Oh no! No you didn't I just... I don't want to rush things", I bit my lip, looking at the ground, scared to look at his face
Suddenly I felt warm fingers lifting my chin up and I was met with Berts dark eyes and a smile that took a bit of my fear
"Don't worry, Gee. We've got time. We don't have to do things you're not comfortable with", he said, his eyes never leaving mine
He waited for me to nod before he leaned down again, placing a sweet, almost innocent kiss on my lips.
"I'm going to go now. See you tomorrow?", Bert whispered when he stepped back again
I nodded "yes... tomorrow."
He smiled and waved as he turned around to walk to his car
I only stood there until I couldn't even hear the car anymore
It's been a long time since the last time somebody actually kissed me.
I lick over my lips, still kind of tasting Bert on my tounge when a smile appeared on my lips.
Soon the smile turned into a painfully wide grin and the grin finally turned into a fit of laugher escaping my lips.
I felt my stomache turn and I knew, this was the happiest I've been in years.
And I didn't care about the fact that it was already late and I was probably going to be extremely tired tomorrow morning.
And I didn't care about the questions Mikey was going to ask when I would walk into my apartment.
And even tho I should, I didn't even care about the black car on the other side of the street. And I cared even less about the punky man in the drivers seat, looking at me with an angry frown.
I always knew he was a stalker
But right now nobody could ruin the mood for me.
