The phone rang and Tasha looked at the caller ID. It was Ashton, so she picked it up. "'Ello?"
"Hey Tasha, do you want to come over? I need someone to help me make dinner so I don't burn down the house."
Tasha laughed. "Sure, Ash, I'll be over in 10."
She hung up and threw on a coat over her sweatpants and T-shirt, pulled on some converse, grabbed her car keys and went out the door, locking up the apartment as she left.
When Tasha got to Ashton's house, she didn't even bother knocking. She just walked in. And immediately wished she wasn't wearing sweatpants. The hottest guy she'd ever seen was standing, shirtless, in the mud room. Her jaw dropped and the boy smirked. "Like what you see?" he teased.
"Uh, who are you?" Tasha managed to choke out. "Am I in the wrong apartment?"
"Nope. The name's Calum. Welcome to my friend Ashton's humble abode."
Ashton. Tasha rushed past Calum and made a beeline for the kitchen, finding Ashton looking through the freezer. "What the hell, Ashton? Who the hell is he?"
He smirked as a voice from behind her said, "Did I not mention that my name was Calum, and that I am Ashton's friend?"
He spun around. There was Calum, jaw-droppingly hot Calum, sitting at the island.
Tasha took a deep breath and collected herself. "Well, nice to meet you, Calum. I'm Tasha." She held out her hand, expecting a handshake.
Calum walked around the island, took her hand, and pulled her in for a quick peck on the lips before letting her go.
"What the...?"
"Sorry." He smirked. "I had to do that. At least once."
Ashton watched the two of them in amusement. "I'll just give you two a few moments by yourselves." He left the room.
"So...how are you?" Tasha asked, breaking the silence after about a minute.
"Amused and aroused."
"Wow. Two big words. Didn't know you knew such a thing as English."
"Oh," he whispered seductively , "don't you worry your pretty little mind. I'm a grammar Nazi."Uh, this was already getting awkward. "Ashton!" Tasha called. "I'm getting hungry! Where's dinner?"
"Order takeout!" Ashton called. "I'm about to get in the shower.
All of a sudden, she wasn't hungry. She didn't want food. All she wanted was Calum.
Wanted? More like needed.
"I locked myself out of my house," she whispered, realizing that she did.
"Want to stay at my place? It's right across the street."
And, without thinking, she nodded. Calum pulled her into another kiss and this time, she actually enjoyed it.
"Let's go," he whispered, grabbing her hand and leading her to the door.
"What about Ashton?"
"He'll understand." Tasha and Calum left the house, and when Ashton heard the front door open and shut, he smirked. The plan had worked.
