-Rainbowtail's POV-
I walked in happily to the cave, eager to see Stonestripe and Eclipsepaw again. As my eyes adjusted to the dim light filtering through the waterfall, I turned to the large group of cats that was my clan. The first cat I saw was the tortoiseshell cat that had silently defended Flowerpaw. She had a few scratches, nothing bad. But then when I walked forward, and the dark outline of shapes made sense now. Everywhere I saw battered warriors, scratched apprentices, and exhausted queens. Sore pads, wounds that go deep to the bone, just horrible.
I turned to my right to see Curlypelt, just stranding there in shock, mouth agape. "What the h*ll happened." I heard his voice, barely a breath. I could see a tribe cat walking toward us. "They had a long hard journey..." He explained. "Then, if it couldn't get any worse, they were attacked by dogs near the mountain." He finished. "B-but what happened at camp?" Cheetahpaw asked, probably knowing that the tribe cat wouldn't be able to answer. "Twolegs." A voice growled from the group. It was Novafur.
~Novafur's flashback~
I watched the dawn patrol walk out of camp, Rainbowtail talking to Flowerpaw. I still didn't trust her, she was probably from another clan trying to steal our secrets. "Novafur." I heard Lionmane's voice. I turned to my left to see him. "Yes Lionmane?" I asked. "I need to talk to you about your behavior." He said sternly. Oh no. He was just going to get me in trouble for teasing a cat that didn't deserve to be a warrior. Quickly scanning the camp I looked for an excuse to get out of this, but there wasn't anything. It was a slow day.
"Before Rainbowtail was made a warrior yesterday, you made fun of her in front of the whole clan. You acted like a foolish apprentice, therefore, I shall give you a similar punishment for being so rude to a newcomer." He continued. "She got lucky for skipping the apprentice training! Do you know how hard apprentices have to work?!" I shot back. "Yes, I realize that she has skipped training, but she acted like a full trained warrior." He meowed. "And since you have been disrespectful to me now, your punishment will be lengthened." He added.
"What?! That's not fair! We shouldn't even be letting newcomers in! They could be from other clans, trying to steal secrets from us!" I meowed back. "When we first saw her and her company, they didn't smell like any clan. In fact, they smelled like twolegs." He meowed. "They're kittypets then!" I meowed in disgust, louder than I intended. "No, they're not. They didn't have collars, they weren't soft, and they certainly weren't fat or plump like normal kittypets." He meowed reasonably back.
"They took their collars off, they probably found out other clans secrets, and they didn't eat most of their food." I meowed, explaining all of them. "Look, your theory is barely reasonable. The point is, you will be punished. You will do apprentice jobs for the next 3 days." He finished flatly. I growled, I had it going so well, and he still gave me that punishment, and now it's back to Novapaw, the bullied laughing stock of the clan. I tried to be like the bullies instead of get bullied, and it worked out in the end.
"Yes, Lionmane." I meowed. "Now, your first apprentice task is to-" he was interrupted by a series of scared and angry caterwauling. We both perked our ears towards the noise. Then a few cats leaped over the bramble barrier, skidding to a halt at the ground on this side. "Twolegs! Twolegs are coming! And they've got sticks that shoot deadly rocks out of them!" Their voices were scared and loud. As if on cue, about seven male twolegs with weird sticks came stomping into Thunderclan camp, and immediately, one of them aimed it at Lionmane and I. I heard a loud bang and I leaped out of the way.Several dogs rushed in too.
I turned back and saw Lionmane standing there, his eyes wide with terror and his mouth gaping in shock. Then I saw something wrong. There was a hole in his chest, and he fell sideways to the ground, forever yowling out for help. "EVERYBODY, OUT OF CAMP, GO TO THE ISLAND!" I yowled, never getting Lionmane's dying image out of my head. We weren't really friends, but a clanmate is a clanmate. Almost instantly, all the cats in the clan came rushing out of their dens, with Cheetahpaw and Flarepaw pelting to Oakstar's den. Now I wouldn't mind if they got killed.
I dragged Lionmane's body to the warriors den to keep it in the shade, and saw Curlypelt. His back was turned to me, so I thought, 'wanna see how a Thunderclan warrior fights?' And I immediately pounced on him and scratched him up 'till he was unconcious. There, hopefully he would be thought of as killing Lionmane and be exiled, along with his stupid gang. I dashed out of the destroyed camp, and headed for the island.
-Rainbowtail in the present's POV-
I could see Curlypelt intently listening to how he became unconscious while fighting a dog. "Boy, I'm glad I am alive." He remarked. With Novafur boasting about how he tried to carry Lionmane to safety, but Lionmane died, and there was nothing he could do, I could tell he was believed by lots of cats.
SORRY FOR SHORT CHAPPY
