I went to Annabeth. I knocked at her cabin and she opened her door, hurriedly. She was looking...stunning. She wore a tube white and blue dress, with the upper half as glittery blue and the flowy part white with white criss cross heels. She had put on a blue bracelet and had all her hair pinned at one side.

'Woah, you look...' I searched for the words, but couldn't find them.

'Percy! I don't have the time for this. We have only 27 minutes left for the wedding! Come in.' she pushed me in and closed the door.

Annabeth rushed inside her room and started searching for something. She was one of the bridesmaids.

'I never lose something-'

'Um, Annabeth?'

'It had to happen today-' Annabeth kept mumbling today.

'Annabeth, listen I need-'

'Gods of Olympus found it!' She turned holding a ring in her hand. 'Will would have killed me!' She looked at Percy who was staring at her angrily, 'Sorry. You were saying?'

'Yes!' I took Annabeth hand and made her sit on the bed with him.

'What?' Annabeth stared at me blankly.

'Look, I have been thinking...'

Annabeth interrupted. 'Wait, the paper that-'

'Annabeth, stop thinking about Nico's wedding!' I shouted. 'When I am here to talk about ours!'

Annabeth looked shaken up. 'What?' she asked in a small voice.

I began saying gently, 'Today, I started thinking about how perfect it is that Nico and Will are getting married. They love each other! Then, I started thinking about us. We are two best friends who are madly in love and have known each other for almost twelve years. You are pretty and smart and...well, perfect. You are everything I ever wanted! If I ever think of sleeping, I think of it with you next to me. If I ever think of smiling, I know, even in my thoughts, that you must be the one making me smile. And if I ever think of dying, I think of it with you holding my hand. I remember what your first words to me were. "You drool when you sleep." And I want to sleep every night knowing that your last words to me would be "I love you". I remember that my first kiss was with you and I want to know that my last kiss will be with you too.'

I got off from the bed and got to one knee. 'I know, this is not how you wanted it to be. I, too, always thought that I would propose to you in a fancy restaurant where the ring would be hidden in the cake and the orchestra would play music. But, the time and setting doesn't matter. All that matters is that you and I are together. Forever. So, Annabeth Chase, would you please someday marry me and have kids with me and probably change your surname for me and design our house and be my permanent encyclopedia ...always?'

I took out the shell and the string and held it out.

Annabeth stood with her mouths covering her face, shocked. I looked at her.

'Um, Annabeth my hand's kind of aching-'

'Yes!' she shouted and slipped her finger in the ring and jumped and hugged me.

'God, seaweed brain.' She said. 'I love you.'

'I love you too, wise girl,' I said and then kissed her. It was the most magical moment ever. Me and Annabeth in each other's arms knowing that we now have a future painted for us. A future with kids, with happy times, with lots of love and where we will always be together. Our life will never be perfect, with all those monsters tracking us down all the time wanting to kill us. We will always have battles and we will always have wars...but I know it will be okay as long as we are together.
