Pov: Cassie
My brother and I stand there in shock and wondering. "Do you think it could be that the same person who put the device in the ship that was in my finger put my ukulele in my room?"
Spock is silent in thought; I can see puzzle pieces being fit together in his mind. "T'Maire go down and help Scotty with what he needs you to do. Don't keep him waiting any longer. I will take care of this. When Mr Scott is done for the day, get Mr Chekov and come to the conference room. I think a meeting is in order. I'll gather the captain, Dr McCoy, Uhura and Mr Sulu."
I nod and he walks towards the bridge as I head to engineering. I get to engineering and Scotty acknowledges I just made it, and sends me a short to-do list on my PADD. I head over by the warp core and get to work with the first short job.
As I work I'm starting to get concerned about what's really happening on the ship. Is the device that was in my finger related to the appearance of my ukulele? If so, why does it seem to target or single out me? It could've easily been a coincidence that the device got into my finger, but my ukulele should've gone down with the Caliber, and if Spock knew nothing about it reappearing, who else would've known about my ukulele?
I move onto the second job on the list and notice Scotty on his PADD next to me and realize I forgot to tell him about the meeting.
"Hey Scotty I forgot I was supposed to tell you after our shifts today there's a meeting."
He looks up from his PADD. "What for lass?"
"Well there was another incident I guess. Well, just another occurrence of something strange appearing on the ship."
"What was it this time?" He asks, curiosity in his eyes.
"It was something of mine, actually. Um..my ukulele." I say hoping he knows what that is.
"Isn't that a tiny little instrument? Ah! A classic! Very nice little antique, that one. So what's so suspicious about it if it's yers?"
"Well you see...it should've went down with the Caliber...I never brought it on board the shuttle and to my knowledge no one else brought it aboard either. It just strangely appeared in my room as well, so I assumed it would've been Spock putting it there, since only he and the captain would have access to my room besides me. Only it wasn't.."
Scotty looks puzzled but also concerned. "Do you think there's a connection with ya?"
"I hope not..." I have to admit, I am a bit scared. With all those weird dreams about being forced to kill my friends and ending up on that Piscian planet, Alpha Pisces, home of the species that killed my friends and took down our ship. I don't know what to expect anymore.
I finish the third thing on the to do list, and even though there's a forth, Scotty waves it off. "Why do it today when you can do it tomorrow? There's more important things right now than switching a few fuses. Those will hold for more than awhile longer."
We head down to Pavel's room on the way to the meeting. Sulu lets us in, his shift over as well and was just grabbing something to eat before the meeting. Pavel's napping soundly and I hate to wake him, but I know this isn't something he should miss, or would want to miss. I give him the tiniest little shake "Pavel honey, wake up dear. There's a meeting we have to go to." He groans and turns over, revealing a now melted ice pack he had on his eye he fell asleep with. His eye looks a lot better. Swelling is down and it's fully open, only the faintest tint of yellow underneath it. He still has a small skin colored bandage on his nose to help it heal, but I'm guessing if he's been taking that pill Bones gave him, that should be pretty healed up too.
