I hopped in the Van that we were taking to drive to California and a huge grin was spread across my face, as I buckled myself up in my seatbelt.

"Well someone's happy..." My cousin muttered, pulling out of the driveway. I heard Lyn and Alexa laugh at him in the background.

I rolled my eyes, glancing at Kellin, "oh, shutup. You have the same smile whenever Oli texts you.." I mumbled, my voice laced with playfulness. I loved Kellin and i's friendship. Despite us being cousins, I saw him as one of my bestfriends. Kellin was so understanding and was always there for me. Ever since he visited Texas when I was living with my Mother at the time, we just clicked. I was there for him when his boyfriend, Vic had died and it was just a crazy and emotional time for us both. But he started dating Oliver five months ago and he's as happy as ever so I guess that I was happy as ever for him, too. When my mother remarried to some random posh guy and moved here to Colorado, was when she went nuts and they started to fight. Kellin lives in Texas still, though. I plan on moving in with him..but I just don't want to leave my Mother.

"..Tay?" a voice snapped me out of my inner-rant, and my head shot up at Alexa, my Ex.

"Oh, yeah..what'd I miss?" I asked, as I bit my lip out of habit. I gazed back at her, she showed me some ridiculous meme and I burst out laughing. We all laughed and jammed out to music, and it was an overall great feeling. It was so much better than crying myself to sleep in a broken home, I missed days like these. It wasn't that bad to be with your Ex and their new girlfriend. I just needed some company and plus they wanted to go to Warped tour but missed the dates in Colorado so they were coming with me, too. I had to admit it did hurt a little whenever Alexa and Lynn would steal kisses but hey, she was happy and I had to move on. After three hours, everyone was winding down so I decided to open up the app kik and text Jenna.

jenny !: it's fine I've just been watching Netflix counting down the hours that you come here

I smiled down at my screen, and locked my phone and threw it into my backpack. The sky was a neon blue and the sun hid behind the dark clouds. It was raining and the trinklets of water hit the window gracefully. I listened to the sound they made as they hit the window, brining my knees up to my chest.

I heard Kellin chuckle, "you really like her, huh?"

I turned to him. His distant green eyes were focused on the road and his black hair rested on his shoulders. I sighed, "I love her..." I started, "it's kind of like what you felt for Vic," I paused, narrowing my eyes at the road as I whispered, since Alexa was sleeping,  "I mean I really liked Alexa..but Jenna is..she makes me so happy, Kellin."

"No..what Vic and I had was intense and as much as i'm not over him and want him to be here again, our relationship wasn't healthy. Mentally healthy, you know?"

I knitted my eyebrows together in confusion, "what do you mean?"

Kellin turned down the music and glanced at me, and then back at the road, "well Vic had a mental illness and it came down to the point where I was the only that made him happy so when we got into that huge fight he just..well you know the story."

"Yeah," I said softly. I reached down and grabbed Kellin's other hand that he wasn't driving with, and held it, "Kellin it's okay..Jenna and I are completely fine, alright?"

Kellin laughed, "sorry I got so deep.."

I shook my head, "no, no it was advice..you're saying to not get so attatched, right?"

"You can get attatched just..please be careful, Tay," he looked at me this time, "when she broke up with you, you fucking lost it. I just care about you and I don't want the same thing to happen.."

I chuckled, "god, you sound like a Dad.."

He nudged me, "well if you're going to start living with me I have to start acting that way."

I let go of his hand with a grin, crossing my arms, "you're the best."
