chapter four - the concert

Tickets to a guy's show huh. Usually when I get invited to watch someone's performance, it's some guy in a band with crazy rock addicts watching...which is totally cool. But i'm not sure if I trust this guy, he spilled water all over me, almost made me fall on the ground, and randomly catches me like we're in some cheesy romantic movie.

Darren Espanto. His name does sound like he's big and famous. Last time I saw him was like 3 days ago, now it's Saturday night, and it's time for his concert. I got two tickets, and since I have like no friends, I invited my cousin to come with me, she can drive anyways.

I put on black skinny jeans, my black and white striped shirt, a leather jacket, a pair of boots, and lastly, a choker. I grab the strap from my camera then put it around my neck, pulling out my long hair from underneath. I go over to the mirror in my room then get a quick glance at myself. I wasn't one to care about my looks, but I feel kind of good. The doorknob then wiggles and my cousin Alyssa's head peeks in the room to check on me.

"Hey Lei, you ready?"

"Yeah, let's go" I breathe out, lastly grabbing my phone then heading downstairs with her. Downstairs was just my parents, probably arguing about some dumb stuff again.

I zip open the purse I had around my body then take out the two tickets for the concert. I hand one to Alyssa and after just a glance, her face turns to a shock looked then an excited smile.

"Darren Espanto?! Mall of Asia Arena?! Front Row?!?" Alyssa said in shock. I lift an eyebrow at her then grin.

Is he the Prince's son or something?

"Yeeeaah, you know him? Darren said that place isn't really big" I say casually. Alyssa's shocked face turns into a confused one.

She looks at the ticket then back at me. "Ohh. I get it" She says quietly to her self, but I still managed to hear. "Um...yeah, the arena isn't that big, we'll be fine"

"Oookaay. Let's head out then?"

She nods her head then grabs her keys from the table, which had like a million keychains attached to it, but the random beer opener caught my eye. She walks ahead and opens the front door, while I take a look at my parents sitting on the couch, still talking.

"Bye guys we're leaving!" I yell out to them so they'll notice. My mom sighs then focuses her eyes on me then she gives a small fake smile, while my dad just had his head on his hands.

"Have fun guys! Don't do anything stupid" My mom warned, then waves us goodbye.

I go out the front door then lock it behind me. We both walk out to the front of the house and the black toyota lights up from Alyssa's keys. I walk over to it then open passenger door, causing me to get a huge whiff of the smell of alcohol and perfume mixed together. I get in and sit down, eyeing the empty cans of bud light on the cup holders.

"Sorry it's a bit of a mess" Alyssa breathes out as she turns on the engine then the radio, with an overplayed pop song playing through the speakers.

"Don't worry about it. I'm a huge mess too" I say as I put on my seatbelt. "Hey can I use the aux cord?"

She nods her head then hands it to me. Right after she starts driving and leaves the neighborhood. I plug it into my phone then go straight to my playlist, playing the first song that was on there. ILYSB by Lany.

"Ooh I love this song" Alyssa chirps as she turns up the volume louder.

I could go so much louder than this, due to some bands I listen to, but i'd rather not explode her eardrums.
