chapter eleven - the party

~Darren's POV~

As we drove closer and closer to the house, the sound of muffled music started getting louder and louder. JK shots me a glare but I just ignore it. I then look back at the huge house next to us.

"Still can't believe you made me come here," JK groaned. "Anong nangyare sa 'guy's night' natin?!"

"Bro just chill, this party could be fun"  I say, trying to calm him.

The driver pulls over near it and unlocks all the doors.

"This the right address, sir Darren?" He asked, looking at us from the rear view mirror.

"Uhh, yes po kuya" I reply, a bit unsure. The driver nods then gets out of the car. He swings the door of the back seats then JK and I let ourselves out.

More and more people started going into the large house. I felt stiff just looking inside the house when the door opens. Which was weird since I perform in front of a bunch of people everyday.

"You know, you could back out it you want" JK shrugged, trying to convince me to leave. I furrow my eyebrows then sigh.

"We're going!" I say, not even looking at him. He rolls his eyes then crosses his arms.

We both put on our sunglasses then walk into the front porch and the muffled music gets louder.  I put out my hand and slowly put in nearer to the door handle.

"Bro just open it already!" JK yelled at me.

I push the door open and music just blasts in our ears. Ignition Remix was the current song playing. The inside was packed with students. Even older ones. All you saw were the colorful led and disco lights moving around the room, plus the red cups scattered everywhere.

Everyone was either dancing to the music or just being in groups with their friends. Not to mention the people in the corner playing beer pong.

"Woa-oh coool" JK said in awe as he looked around.

I looked around for Lei, but I didn't see her anywhere. I glance back at JK and see he's already talking to a girl. He did his little eyebrow lift move, which made the girl giggle. I roll my eyes. Guess JK already got sucked in into the party. I look around a bit more then spot Lei's brother Nick, walking with a friend.

"See Jacob, this is the type of stuff our grade isn't even allowed to see" Nick exclaimed to his friend. They both laugh then high five. I walk over to him

"Nick! Um, saan si Lei?" I yelled over the loud music, pushing away the couple that was dancing weirdly close to me.

Nick just shrugged and walked away. Very helpful. Few more minutes of trying to squeeze through people to walk, and I finally found Lei.

She was wearing white vans, black leggings, a white crop top, and a folded arm jean jacket over it. She was walking around with her hands in her jacket pockets and smiled while she looked around at all the happy, dancing people.

I was about to walk up to her, until a loud rap song came on and everyone pretty much went crazy. Everyone was dancing around me, I tried to push through but I lost sight of her. I sigh then walk over to the snack table to get a drink.
