~Lei's POV~

Maybe jumping in that lake was a bad idea.

...Nope it was totally worth it.

God I feel like death at the moment. I've had a cold and had to miss school for a few days. And I didn't have to ditch this time.

I haven't been to school in like a week or so. I missed a few days after what happened with my dad, then went back to school for like two days, then didn't come back for 3 days cause I was sick and dying.

I never realized how much I loved being outside until I sat on the couch all day everyday binge watching teleseryes and drinking tea.

But it's finally Friday and my death is slowly coming to an end. I walk through the door of my classroom—in time for once—and headed to Amelia, who sat in the very front of the classroom.

"Hey nerd" I say nasally to Amelia as I sit on top of the desk right next to her, kicking my feet as they dangled on top of the floor. Amelia was getting her supplies out from her backpack and making sure they were neat on her desk, like always.

"Heyy you're back. Anong pakiramdam mo?" She asks, not looking up from her desk.

"Still feel like trash but hey it's all good" I shrug as I run my hand through my hair.

The teacher, Mrs. Mendoza, then walks into the classroom, causing everyone to immediately walk to their seats. I quietly groan at the sight of her then lazily jump off the desk, walking to the back of the class where I normally sit. I throw my bag on the wooden desk then sit down.

"Good morning class" Mrs Mendoza says politely as she goes behind her front desk.

"Good morning" The class lazily said in their own consecutive way.

"Okay class, I will first hand out your exams from Monday, some did excellent, some did...not so well" She said eyeing me, making me smirk since she was obviously talking about me.

I laid my head on my hand then played with my nails as I silently waited for my test to be given to me. Mrs. Mendoza finally reached me and laid the exam paper on my desk.

"Oh shoot" I chuckle quietly as I take a look at the test paper in front of me that had a bunch of red marks on it.

"Ms. Reyes you showed up to class for once!" She said with lazy excitement. "Just...try to work harder please"

Math wasn't exactly my best subject. Amelia's tried to tutor me before....ended with her having a breakdown and me recording the whole thing. Isn't that what friends are for?

After a whole boring lecture and crap, Mrs. Mendoza finally gave us some free time.

"Lecture is done for today, you are free to do work from another class silently" She said firmly as she sat in her desk and started doing some paperwork.

I grab my bag and head to the front of the class next to Amelia. The teacher gave me a little "what are you doing get back in your seat" look.

"Um, Amelia's just gonna help me with homework from another class" I say politely, causing her to give me an irritated sigh and a nod.

The teacher's used to me already, she's probably heard all my excuses, but hey she still lets me be. I sit on the empty desk next to Amelia and scooch closer to her. I dig through my messy school shoulder bag then take out a random piece of paper.

"So Amelia, can you help me with this science sheet?" I say loud enough so the teacher would at least think i'm doing something productive.

"Dude. I need to talk to you about something" I whisper to her. She looks up from her notebook then sighs.
