During the break, I tried to talk to Ashish but I didn't find him anywhere and came to know that he went to canteen after meeting our sports coach with Manish and Rehan. They both are his best friends and Preeti also. Preeti is his friend come neighbor from the time they were born. Manish is my neighbor and a really good friend of mine too. Manish is Ashish's best friend since kindergarten. They both are like brothers. Rehan joined our school from 5th standard onwards because his father got transferred to this place at that time and they made him join in our school, he is also a neighbor to Ashish. These three hang along wherever they go. So, I didn't find the proper time to clear the misunderstandings with that idiot Ashish.
The day has passed like this, me, not talking with my friends and him, not leaving any chance to humiliate me. Later that evening at home, when I came down from my room after getting freshened I saw Preeti talking with my mom.
"Oh My God! Preeti, what are you doing here?" I asked her with shock and confusion evident in my face.
"Yeah Naina, I'll tell you that. First, let's go to your room," she replied, turning towards me.
"You go and talk. I'll bring snacks for both of you," My mom said to us and we both moseyed to my room.
As soon as we hit my room Preeti hit me on the back of my head making me scream with pain. "Ahh.. Preeti, what happened? Why did you hit?"
"Just shut up idiot! First tell me, did you find a new friend in Ashish?" She roared at me.
For a second my eyes dilated with appall and I asked, composing my posture, "Lol! Are you kidding me Preeti? How can you ask such a stupid question?"
"Then what about today's morning?" She retarded back.
"What about today's morning?" I asked, raising my eyebrows and hands in a questioning way.
"How come you both came together to the class, that too without fighting? And started fighting in front of the whole class? Do you know, when we saw you two coming together, for a second we got shocked and thought you both cleared your issues but you guys proved us wrong. You people are not acting in front of us, right?" She blabbered in one go. I was appalled after listening to her words.
How can they think like that?
"Preeti, listen. Morning he came along just to annoy me with his presence, "I told her slowly so that she gets every word clearly.
She hummed getting satisfied with my answer and again shouted suddenly as if realizing something, "Okay, why are you not talking with us? Why are you avoiding us?" Now it's time for me to feel guilt.
I went and sat on my bed thinking about how to divert the topic. But, how? She shouted again abruptly to which I got startled, "Speak up idiot."
Suddenly my mom appeared in my room with snack tray in her hand, which has sandwiches on it and asked fully enjoying the situation, "What happened Preeti? What did she do now?"
"Aunty, this nitwit is not talking and avoiding us from yesterday onwards," she complained to my mom.
"Why Naina?" mom asked.
"Mom, it's nothing. They are just misunderstanding. That's it," I said, getting annoyed to which Preeti gave me a death glare.
"Anyways, you both carry on clearing your issues. I have work to do in the kitchen. So, I can't hear to both of your complaints," saying that mom left the room.
