Days passed like this and it was our last working day in school. It was Saturday means half day school for us. In every class, teachers told us some important questions and wished us all the best for our pre-final exams that were going to start from Monday onwards and also for our public exams which were going to start exactly after a month.
Like this we reached our last class for the day. Our class teacher took this class and announced, "The higher authorities planned a tour to Ooty for one week after your public exams and students, whoever is interested should enroll your names in the office room on or before the completion of your pre-final exams."
Yay! Tour to Ooty *drum rolls*. But before that, I need to take permission from my parents and have to traverse the toughest time, i.e., we need to do the hard work for our exams.
Still, there was half an hour left for the class, to get finished, so, we requested our teacher to conduct some games. Though, she accepted reluctantly, she is happy with that. We played Dumb Charades and enjoyed the rest of the time in that class.
Soon the bell rang and school got finished. The last class of my 12 years of journey in that school got finished like that. Feeling nostalgic seeing the entire school, we moved towards the parking area. This is the place where I learnt how to ride a bicycle. So, I thought to have a bicycle ride with Preeti's bicycle for one last time here to cherish the memories. Everyone left the school and more than half of the 10th students were here taking snaps, slams from one another.
I took hold of Preeti's bicycle and was about to go for a ride around the parking area, but a guy with one of his friends came near our group (our 11-13 friends group) and called out Bhanu to come aside for a minute. Both the guys were our classmates. But Bhanu didn't go and asked him what the matter is. That guy felt shy hesitating to say something. His friend, who came with him, asked him to say. It was very entertaining to see them like that. And finally he blurted out that he loves Bhanu, feeling shy in a low voice. Oh My God! How cute! This is the first time I saw a guy proposing a girl in real life.
Last week there were two farewell parties, one, given to us by our juniors and the other, given by us to our teachers and higher authorities. First day, juniors gave us and the second day, we gave to teachers and higher authorities. On the second day many girls got proposals from boys and vice versa but, I didn't see any of them at that time, I just heard about them from others. Even one of my crazy friend tore a paper from slam book and wrote 'I Like U' and passed it to a boy through some mediator but unfortunately it didn't reach that boy. The theme of that slam book had a red border on four sides of a white background with red rose at the right side.
But, this is the first time I saw an actual proposal and seeing this, I started smiling like a mad girl and waited eagerly about what Bhanu would say. But she just replied a simple 'No'. Listening to her, that guy's face became sad. Aw!! Poor guy. Then those two guys went away.
After teasing Bhanu a little I went for a ride. While riding, Ashish came in front of me, in his bicycle from the opposite direction and, started to wobble the handle of his bicycle wantedly. Due to this, I lost the balance and fell down with a loud scream. I got scratches on my left elbow and left knee. My chudidar pant has even got a tear near the wound. It became hard for me to get up as the bicycle fell on me. Immediately, my friends came running towards me and helped me to get up. They made me sit on a ledge, made me to drink water and cleaned the blood that was coming from the scratches. I was feeling immense pain and my head started spinning due to sudden contact of the earth with so much force. I felt like the whole energy in my body has vanished.
I tried to control my pain but that pain came out in the form of tears. I started crying, clutching my knee tightly. Seeing me like this Preeti went near Ashish and started shouting at him.
"Ashish, are you insane? How can you stoop this low?" Preeti shouted at Ashish.
"I just meant to frighten her a little. I didn't think of hurting her," Ashish said in a low voice, staring at me from the corner of his eyes. Guilt was clearly visible on his face.
"First tell me, why are you doing all this to her and what is this revenge thing between you two?" Preeti questioned him motioning her hand between both of us.
But he left from that place angrily as if remembering something without answering her question. When he was moving in his bicycle out of the school, Preeti shouted at the back of him, "At least apologize to her Ashish. You have to answer me today. I'll come to your house." But, he left.
We moved from there when the pain got a little eased. Later that night, when I was studying for Monday's exam, I got a text from Ashish. I opened it.
Ashish : Sorry
I didn't reply back. Then again immediately my phone beeped, indicating another message. It was againfrom Ashish.
Ashish : I sent that by mistake
I glared at the message for a second and immediately typed a reply.
Me : Are u mad?
I didn't get any reply from him. Ashish's guilt face from the afternoon's incident flashed in front of my eyes followed by all the incidents that took between us. Even though we both always fight, I felt like I'm going to miss them and decided to know the reason behind his revenge. May be after clearing this misunderstanding, we both might become friends in the future.
'Yes! I have to find the reason for his revenge,' saying this to myself in determination I continued with studying.
Will update another chapter tonight...
