Ashish's POV
From last 15 mins onwards I was trying to call our friends, who left in the bus. I sat on a chair near a table wondering how we were left here and how our friends didn't even notify us about the departure of the bus. I was really annoyed with everything. I ran my left hand into my hair in frustration and was trying to call them. A sudden voice brought me back from the trench of my thoughts.
"Whom are you calling?" Naina asked approaching me.
"Wow! Finally! I'll come in a jiffy," I mimicked her previous words. "Is it jiffy? It's been 15 mins," she didn't reply anything, instead glared at me.
"Whatever! I was trying to call the people, who are in the bus, but there is no signal here," I explained her.
"Oh! What about the bus? The Dhaba owner told us that it comes in 15 mins. Didn't it come?" she asked me.
"No, it didn't," I replied her raising my phone into the air searching for signal.
"I have ₹1500," she informed me.
"Okay! I think it will be sufficient for us. Is there a signal in your mobile?" I asked her in a hope that at least her mobile gets a signal.
"My mobile is in the bus."
I rolled my eyes and replied with sarcasm, "Great!"
After 5 more minutes the bus arrived and everyone got down from it to have their dinner. The LED screen inside the bus was visible from the front glass of it, repeatedly scrolling a message saying the bus number, its source and destination cities and a thank you message. Seeing it, we confirmed that it goes to Ooty.
The conductor and driver were checking the tires of the bus. We went towards them to enquire about its departure and to buy the tickets.
"Excuse me," I called them to get their attention. "When will the bus start?"
"In 20 to 30 minutes," the conductor responded.
I glanced at Naina questioningly, but she just shrugged her shoulders.
"Okay! Two tickets to Ooty please," I asked the conductor and when he was about to say something I continued again. "Actually, our school is on a tour to Ooty. We missed our bus when we got down here. Can you drop us if we see our bus on the way to Ooty. If we don't find the bus, then it's fine, we will get down in Ooty."
"Fine! We can understand, but the problem is there is only one seat left in the bus," the conductor said.
"It's okay! We will adjust."
"You may adjust, but we don't want to trouble your fellow passenger."
That's a bit rude, but we have to reach there.
I thought for a second and blurted something, for which even I got baffled, "No, there won't be any trouble for the co-passenger. She will sit on me."
Naina jerked my shoulder, forcing me to face her. "What?" she asked me with a shocked face. "I won't sit on you."
"Okay! I'll sit on you," I said getting annoyed. Actually, I don't know what to tell her, so, I again blurted something. In the first place, I don't even know why I said that she will sit on me.
"I'll kick you with my leg if you do so," she said, showing attitude keeping her hands on her hips.
"Okay, fine! I'll go alone. You stay here," I said in a casual tone shrugging my shoulders and shoving my hands into pockets. I tilted my head a little towards left smirking at her, raising my eyebrows.
