Chapter 2 - School Fool

I was walking down the halls when somebody shouted my name. It was Van. My best friend. My only friend actually. I waved at him and smiled. Van is a sweet, smart guy. He has chestnut colored hair which is styled to perfection and warm amber eyes. He's been my best friend since grade 3. We just had an instant connection as soon as our eyes met. We've been inseperable ever since.

"Hey, sorry, I didn't go to your concert last night. My mom grounded me for eating Riley's food." Riley is his younger sister.

Van is the only person in the world who knows that I'm blue moon and that Stephanie is my step sister.

I got that name blue moon because when my Dad died, I only had the moon as my source of comfort since my Mom was an empty shell at the time and didn't do much. She didn't eat or drink. . . well, she drank beer but. ..  you get my point.

The moon gave me hope to do what I want and auditioning in Black Sun is one of the best decisions I've ever made so everytime I look at the moon it gives me the strength to carry on.

"That's what you get for being a pig." I replied to him.

"Hey! I couldn't help it. Mom never feed us anything besides vegetables and fish. You're so lucky your parents are not vegetarians." He groaned. I laughed. It was lunch time and we were heading to the cafeteria.

"I'm going to move to the dorms here." I grumbled.

"Why so gloom? Isn't it much better that you don't have to commute everyday to go to school?" He was looking at  the lunch menu. It was hamburgers, pizza and salad. Yum.

"Yeah. Except that Steph is going to live in an apartment while I'm in a dorm all alone and probably with a roommate I might not get along with." I complained as I ordered the pizza.

"I'm sure you'll be fine." He assured me.

"Uh-huh, everybody thinks I'm a walking curse, Van." My voice filled with doubt at his assurance.

"Then everybody is not worth it. Why be friends with people who believes rumours easily? Besides, you'll always have me." He smiled at me, his amber eyes warm.

"You're right." I grinned at him. He always knows how to make me feel better.

Stephanie was sitting at the center of the cafeteria with her cheerleader friends. The jocks were sitting in the next table. I looked at the one I've been crushing over.

Aiden Harrolds. Aiden has beautiful bronze hair, electric blue eyes, full pink lips and a body that's packed with muscles and abs. I gazed at him hungrily.

When people treated me bad because Steph spreaded a false rumor, Aiden stood up for me (so did Van) and told them to shut up if they don't want to get suspended. He was actually nice! Aiden is top notch. He's handsome, smart, athletic, kind and president of the student body. You coudn't get more perfect than that.

Aiden treated me like a human being. It's just unfortunate that he treats everyone the same which means your just a nobody to him, just a student who needs his help. He usually stays quiet unless one of his close group of friends does something to rile him up.

"Careful, El. You're drooling." Van teased. I punched him in the shoulder lightly.

We sat down and ate. Laughing and teasing each other like we usually do when someone called Van.
