"So Jason. How's football? Any teams looking at you."

"Yes sir. Tennessee and Dolphins came to watch me practice the other day. But I'm wanna get drafted to the Gaints." He smiles.

The first couples minutes of dinner was awkward. Nobody said anything. Greg looked tense and Jason was just eating and I was just nervous as hell.

"Well Giants is a good team." He mumble. "I talked with Ryder." He say to me.

"Oh- I. It-" I couldn't figure out what to say.

"I have to admit I was mad at first. But you an adult. Even if you do find him I'll still look at you if your one of my own." He say.

"So everything's okay?"

"Yeah. Sure why not." He slide his plate away from him. "I'll be out of town for at least a month."

"Where are you going?"

"To Barbados. I have business trip there then I'm going to meet up with an old friend." He hands rosy his plate standing up.

"When you leaving?"

"I'm afraid tomorrow night. But you can always come here. You have a key. And I put some money on your card." He smiles.

Greg has a big heart. When he goes out of town he put money on my card. Now the normal parent would put at least $50 on the counter with an note. Greg since he's an billionaire he leaves $2000 with an jewelry set for me before he leaves.

"I'm going to sleep for night. I'll see you in the morning." He kisses my forehead walking up the stairs.

I look down seeing Jason eating his food not really knowing what's going on. "You should be full by now you had 3 plates already." I roll my eyes sitting beside him.

"In my defense you wore me out earlier. Therefore I need to eat to get my energy back." He shrugs.

I blush. "You the one that said let's go another round."

"Yes I did. And I don't understand how your not tired." He stands up as rosy takes his plate. He start walking towards the game room.

"Well I have a lot of energy."

"Oh I know." He smirks. Grabbing a game controller. "You wanna play?"

I shake my head sitting in between his legs on the couch. "I'll just watch."

"Dinner didn't go as bad as you thought it was. Told you had nothing to worry about."

I sigh laying my head on his chest. Looking at the game he was playing on the tv. "He's still hurting. I seen it in his eyes."

"Why doesn't he get remarried?" He say lowly.

I shrug. "My mother really hurt him. I guess he don't trust women like that anymore."

Me and Ryder talked about why he doesn't try again. We never ask. Greg loved my mother or so he say. Ryder told me stories about when  they first got together. He was always spoiling her and taking her on adventures. He got her anything she wanted. But as the years went on the love was no longer there. Greg told Ryder that my mother cheated which is true obviously I wouldn't be here if it wasn't. And he started abusing them because she was using him and manipulating him for money she didn't love him anymore. I don't remember much when I was young but I remember Greg always got mad for anything I do. He would lose his temper with me so easily. Ryder never told me where he was at when I had to stay with Greg when I was younger. He just said he'll  do anything to keep me protected.

"Emily." Jason shakes me. I look up at him. "I've been calling your name. You okay?"

I nod. "Jason promise me no matter what happens between us in the future. You'll never hurt me. Physically."
