Prompt: Everything is set up perfectly for Riley Matthews' wedding day. She and her high school boyfriend, Lucas Friar, are finally tying the knot and everyone's coming. Well...not everyone. Will Riley and Lucas get married in their happily ever after? Or can a certain genius change her mind?

Riley's POV

I glance at myself in my floor length mirror.

The Cinderella-like white ball gown dress fit me perfectly.

The top sparkles with more jewels than I can count while the toile skirt flows down with a light grace.

I'm ready.

I'm ready to marry Lucas Friar.

He proposed about three months ago and insisted we rush the wedding.

Luckily enough, everyone responded that they could come.

Well, except Farkle Minkus...but I hadn't seen him since graduation 6 years ago.

He probably doesn't even remember who I am....

Farkle's POV

To: Farkle Minkus

You are invited to the marriage of Lucas Friar and Riley Matthews on April 21 at 3:00 p.m. in the Matthew's home.

RSVP: ASAP!

I lay down the invitation and let out a sigh.

I should be happy right? My best friends are getting married!

If only I wasn't in love with one of them.

I can't go, because if I do I'll have a reason why she can't marry him.

Why? Because I know that Lucas cheated on Riley all during college.

With none other than the Isadora Smackle.

I didn't have the heart to tell Riley, neither did Smackle or Lucas.

I broke it off with Smackle, knowing since high school that she'd never truly love me.

And I didn't love her either.

But Lucas on the other hand never told Riley, leaving her clueless.

Now she's going to marry him and I can't even do a thing about it!

I slam the invitation down with a mixture of frustration and despair.

Maybe Lucas changed, maybe he's different now.

Maybe.

*knock knock knock*

"Open up dumb ass!"

Maya.

Throughout high school and college, Maya had really developed a vocabulary.

I open my apartment door, "Shouldn't you be helping Riley get ready for her wedding?" I ask bluntly.

She rolls her eyes, "Yes. Shouldn't you be the one marrying her?!"

I purse my lips, "No, she loves Lucas."

"Yeah, but you love her."

"Of course I do. But she doesn't love me."

"I wouldn't be so sure." Maya invites herself into my apartment.

I cock my head, "What do you mean?"

"She told me the other day that there's only one person that can stop this and he's not coming. Farkle, you are the only 'he' that's close to her not going to the wedding!"
