"I don't even know why we have to go." I said out loud to myself. Looking in the mirror at my outfit.

It's Saturday and its close to 11 and supposedly plans were changed. Instead of a family dinner, its a family brunch. Just great. Either way I still didn't wanna go.

"Baby are you ready?" My mom said coming into my room.

"Yeah I guess I am" I said.

"Look at you looking all godly in all that white

"Look at you looking all godly in all that white. You look like the angel you are." She laughed, then smiled.

"Aaaah. Its just something I pulled out. You out here looking more like my sister than my mother with that outfit on. Did Troy approve of this?" I said.

She gave me a straight face, but she cracked a smile

She gave me a straight face, but she cracked a smile.

"Troy is not my Daddy." She said. I have her the okay look. Troy gone pop the fuck outta her bubble when he see this.

"When is Troy coming anyway?" I asked. Its not like I'm in a rush or anything. I just wanna know cause she said when he gets here we're leaving.

"He should be here any minute." She said looking at her watch she was putting on.

"Mom. I really don't wanna go to this brunch. I can honestly say that I don't have a problem with not seeing that man ever again in my life." I said honestly.

"Baby. When it comes to your father one thing I have learned to do is forgive. His actions towards you are not justifiable, but you still have to learn to forgive him. It's the only way you'll feel better and lift that burden off of you." She said. I just nodded.

I understood where she was coming from, its just gonna take me a while to learn how to forgive him. I'm a very forgiving person, but when it comes to him, it's just something that doesn't pop up.

"Since we're doing this, do we still have to go to his house for Thanksgiving?" I asked.

"It depends on what's going on at the time. As Thanksgiving approaches hopefully we'll have our minds made on whether we wanna go or not. But how about we focus on one event at a time." She said. I laughed and nodded my head.
