This is something that has been happening over the past few months at the store I work at. I work in a mall store, so the store front is open for anyone to look inside, and the mall is still sort of packed even when it's closing time for the building. I'm not sure if it's someone trying to stalk me, or just plain harass me. I never thought it would happen since I'm just an average guy, tall and skinny, dark hair brown eyes and glasses. Not very interesting, right? Apparently not.
This all started in November of last year, when I was 19 and some normal looking guy, a bit chubby came into the store looking around, probably excited to see all these board games. I, of course, go up to him and ask 'Welcome! Is this your first time in the store?' He gives me a look as if saying to back off, so I do just that, and head behind the counter to finish what I was doing.
After about half an hour he comes up to the counter and just stands there starring at me, so I ask 'Can I help you with anything? I know there's a lot of stuff to look at!' He just continues to stare at me, so I smile and decide to clean the store just to get away from this guy. It works and he leaves the store.
Around the end of the day, very close to the time I have to close up the store, he walks back in, and I think 'well, maybe he'll buy something now,' Of course not, how silly of me. He goes right up to me as I'm cleaning up and places his hand on my shoulder and says 'I like your glasses...' I freak out and pretty much kick him out and threaten to call security. He leaves, and I quickly lock the door without bringing in the signs we have outside. He stands there, kicks over the signs, then stares at me with a huge smirk on his face. I decide to go in back and call my roommate to come by, but by the time I go back out, he's gone so I bring in the signs.
Nothing happens for a couple of months, and my birthday rolls. Since I'm working for minimum wage, I decide I should go in and get some of that extra birthday money. I also decided to wear contacts that day. Of course I see this dude wandering outside of the store every time I look up from helping a customer. Most likely, he didn't want to come in either when it was full, or since my coworker was still on shift.
After my coworker leaves, and pretty much all the customers do as well, glasses-fan walks in while I'm helping someone figure out a gift for their daughter (Not important), and he just comes behind me and places his hand on my shoulder again. 'Oh, why aren't you wearing you glasses today? You looked so handsome.' I look at the person I was helping, doing my best to ignore this person, and the customer gives me an awkward chuckle as if he was unsure if this was a friend of mine. So he then decides he's going to get his gift and quickly leave (Thanks buddy for leaving me with this creep!). He then starts talking to me about how he's sorry he kicked over the signs last time he was here, and then gave me a rock (what?) and said happy birthday.
I lost my shit at this point and told him to leave, and called security while he continued to hover over the counter getting more and more pissed, spouting nonsense about how 'Skinny people shouldn't starve themselves' or something like that. Finally security came by and pulled him out of the store.
Again, nothing happened for months, but I got a package at work, which is weird because my shipping address for everything is my apartment. My manager hands me the package, and I instantly know who it's from, but I open it anyway because I'm not sure what else to do. Inside was three pairs of glasses, all in my EXACT prescription. Yes, I did try them on, still not sure why.
The next day, he walks in without even caring the store was full and I was with a coworker today. He essentially asks me out on a date, to which I fight the urge to say something incredibly horrible to him, and just say. 'Oh, no thanks, I have a girlfriend, and I don't want to break up with her.' This seems to startle him and he just started yelling about how I shouldn't have lead him on and told him I was gay. My mouth just hangs open and my coworker just calls security, but glasses-fan leaves before the come this time.
I have a feeling this is not the end of this guy, but I really hope it is because I love working in this story. So, weird glasses creep, let's not meet again!
