Chapter 32: Changes

Jasper's P.O.V.

Isabella's transformation had been going on for about a day. i had never felt this much physical pain coming from one person, not even during their change. It was as if She was feeling the pain of the change of ten people not just one. I was taking as much of the pain away as possible but it wasnt doing much for her. It was killing me to see my sweet Isabella in so much pain and there was nothing i could do make it stop. To her credit she hadn't screamed or yelled or even moved. In fact if it wasn't for the fact that i could still hear her heart beating, i would have thought that she was actually dead. In all my years of turning human into vampires i had never seen anyone go through the transformation this gracefully. This only made me more convinced that my Isabella would be a truly amazing immortal.

I have been by her side since the moment i bit her. I have been talking to her the whole time, Carlisle says that it makes it better if you have something to focus on other than the pain. I told her how much i love her, more than my own life. I also told her that the pain wont last much longer and I told her how happy i was that once she awakened we would have all of eternity to spend together. The rest of the family also took turn coming in and talking to Isabella too.

I am not sure how much longer she will be burning but i have already seen some dramatic physical changes taking place. She has already become slightly taller, her chest and hips have both become more full, and her hair has grown longer and very subtle red and blonde highlights have started to appear. I didn't think it was possible but she was becoming even more beautiful than befor.

Just then there was a knock at the bedroom door. When it opened Alice walked in followed by Charlotte, Esme, and Rosalie. :Jasper, i have had a vision." She said. I was immediately on guard for any threat that could be coming when my mate was in such a vulnerable state. "Isabella will be awake in just over an hour." She finished. I was amazed. "You really think she will awaken so soon?" I asked. "I had a vision, Jasper. You dare to bet against me?"She asked. "No I wouldn't do that, I am just surprised is all. I have never seen a transformation end that quickly." I told her. "I know but we need to get her cleaned up and changed before she wakes up. So why don't you go join the boys?" I was hesitant to leave Isabella's side. Alice saw this and said. "Go on now.... It will only take us a few moments and then you can come right back, now GO!"

She was right it only took the girls five minuets to get her cleaned up and dressed. When i re-entered the bedroom, Isabella was noticably more pale. She was wearing a dark red (almost the same color her eyes would soon be) dress with a pencil skirt and matching high heels. Normally this would have been a bad choice of foot wear for my Isabella but since she is becoming a vampire she will no loner be clumsy.

I took my seat next to her and just admired the beautiful creature that lay before me. In no time at all I heard her heart beat faster and faster. Until her back arched off of the bed and as she let out a single blood curdling scream, her heart stopped.
