Chapter Ten

-

Wednesday

"It's not what it looks like!" Michael persisted eagerly as the blonde stood there shocked, staring at the photograph of his brother and Michael kissing.

"It is what it looks like! Stop lying to me!" Luke screamed. "You seem a lot closer to my brother than just someone who occasionally hung out with him!"

The black-haired boy sighed placing a supportive hand on his boyfriend's shoulder only for it to be aggressively pushed away. "Did you love him?" Luke whispered his voice hoarse and tears running down his cheeks.

"I do," Michael nodded quietly.

Luke eyes widened out of shock. "You still fucking love him! You're with me! Or am I just an excuse of basically still having him? You're just using me aren't you?" His eyes bloodshot and his breath uneven and loud.

"No Luke, it's really not like that!" the older boy tried to reassure him, he now felt incredibly guilty for keeping all of this from the young boy. "Let me explain."

"It'll just be more bullshit, you clearly don't care about me. Only Jack."

"He was my boyfriend Luke and I lost him. I am clearly going to still have feelings for him," Michael shot back a little annoyed he did not want to listen.

"He's my brother, you do not see me going around trying to replace him!"

"I'm not replacing him. I moved on and found you," he insisted once again reaching out to hold his boyfriend's hand.

"Bullshit!" the blonde spat again.

"Luke please, I really do love you," he begged now crying himself.

"You love Jack. You took him away from me and now I'm going to take the last living thing that has a resemblance to him away from you," he sneered barging past Michael and to the door.

"Luke, no! You need to listen. I'll explain everything to you. I know I've been a shit boyfriend keeping half of Jack's life from you. But, that's what he wanted. Your parents would know that. He wanted to protect you from how harsh this world was."

For a minute Luke paused taking in what Michael said. "My parents knew about your relationship?"

The black-haired boy shook his head. "I was his little secret," he laughed stupidly. "I wanted to meet them so bad, but he said they'd ruin everything. He always talked about you, you were his perfect little brother and he loved you a lot."

"Clearly not," Luke mumbled before standing straight again. "You have a problem with lying Michael. Jack would have told me everything. He always did."

"There was a lot going on his life—"

"You probably told him not to. I bet you were horrible to him hence why he was so quiet and never came home."

"Luke no! Where are you getting all this from?" Michael asked confused why he was thinking all of this.

"Well, I'll tell you what. I am leaving you before you can't ruin my life too. I don't ever want to see or speak to you again."

"Luke please!" Michael begged sobbing. "I love you. I love you more than I loved Jack."

"Is that why you pushed him into the river?"
