Fright Knight's POV

We landed behind the Prince's school just as the bell rang, signaling the beginning of classes. Danny groaned, "Aw man, Lancer is going to kill me for being late."

"Who is going to kill you?" I questioned as I drew my sword.

The young Prince's eyes widened as he saw the sword, "Easy there big guy, it's just an expression. No one is actually going to kill me. Yet."

He added that last part under his breath, probably not intending me to hear. I watched as two white rings washed over him, reverting him to his human form.

"Remember, stay invisible and don't interfere if I'm getting bullied. Even if there is a ghost attacking, try to keep hidden. I haven't told my friends about all this yet and I intend to keep it that way," the young halfa said before turning to enter the school.

I made myself invisible and phased through the door after him. He was walking down one of the long hallways of the school when a closet door opened and two sets of hands grabbed him, pulling him into the closet.

Danny's POV

I landed on the floor of the closet but quickly got up as I moved into a fighting stance. I was surprised to be staring at my friends Sam and Tucker. "What the heck guys!" I shouted.

"We want answers Danny," Sam said as she approached me.

I lost the stance and rubbed the back of my neck, "I don't know what you mean by that."

"Cut the act dude, we saw you ride into the Ghost Zone with Fright Knight. Do you have any idea how worried we were?! We even went to City Hall and confronted Vlad," Tuck ranted.

"So when Jazz texts us last night saying you were home safe and sound, imagine our suspicions," Sam finished.

I was dreading this conversation. I still didn't want to tell them about me being Prince but it was that or think up one heck of a lie. Just then my phone buzzed in my back pocket. I smiled sheepishly as I pulled it out.

Are you alright in there? Do you need help? -FK  a text message read.

Just my friends. I'm fine. I quickly typed back.

"Danny, what's up with you? Your freak out at Nasty Burger, not contacting us all weekend, and now Fright Knight?" Sam questioned.

Truth or lie, truth or lie.

"C'mon man, whatever is going on you can tell us," Tucker said.

"He better tell us," Sam added.

I frowned, "I was fighting Fright Knight and he was able to capture me. I broke free once we were in the Ghost Zone and was able to get away. The reason I haven't contacted either of you was because I had homework and had to go to a dinner party on Sunday," I half lied.

My friends frowned, obviously trying to figure out if I was telling the truth or not. Mentally rolling my eyes, I pushed past them. "Believe me or not, I don't care. But I need to get to class or Lancer will have my hide," I said as I opened the door.

I caught sight of Fright Knight as I left the closet and headed to class. I looked behind me and didn't see Sam or Tucker at all.

End of the day

It was the last class of the day, Science with Mr.Gordan. I was lost in thought as I mixed chemical together at my lab station.

I had avoided Sam and Tucker all day. Whenever we had a class together I would ignore them and the notes they tossed me, and after class or in the halls I would turn invisible and slip away. I hated not telling them but it just seemed like they wouldn't understand. I wonder if-
