Danny's POV
The rest of the week went by in a blur. I went to school, checked in with Fright Knight and trained with Clockwork.
But something wasn't right.
There had been barely any ghost attacks for a while. Sure the occasional Box Ghost incident but that was about it. No Skulker, Ember, Spectra, Walker, not even Vlad had bothered me.
It might sound crazy but I was starting to get worried. Whether it be about my enemies or my own safety I wasn't sure.
But I shook it off, it was the weekend. Two days of no school. Once I got home I ran straight up to my room and flopped onto my bed. I was just about to fall asleep when I heard a buzzing noise coming from my backpack. Grumbling, I sat up and reached for my bag, pulling out my cell phone. It was a text from Sam
Danny, could you meet me and Tuck at Nasty Burger? Super important!!
-SamI really wanted to get some sleep, I had been training a lot with Clockwork since there was a lack of ghost fighting action. But if I stood them up they would be even more curious about what I'm doing in my free time than they already are.
Ok, be there in 5.
-DannyI walked over to my window and transformed into my ghostly alter ego. I turned invisible and flew out the window in the direction of the Nasty Burger.
At the Nasty Burger
The giant red neon sign came into view and I landed behind the building transforming back into Danny Fenton. I walked around to the front and entered the restaurant looking for my friends. I spotted them at a booth table sitting beside each other and talking quietly. When I began to walk over, Sam spotted me and instantly stopped talking.
Confused, I sat down in the seat opposite of the two. "So what's up?" I asked.
"Haven't you noticed anything odd lately?" Sam questioned.
I raised an eyebrow, "Not really, why?"
"Dude, there's been like zero ghost action in like forever!" Tucker cried. I rubbed the back of my neck, "Oh yeah, I have noticed that."
"Aren't you worried?" Sam asked.
I shrugged. "Danny," Sam said, "Are you keeping something from us?"
Should I tell them? My training with Clockwork, being the Prince of the Ghost Zone, Fright Knight? How would they react? I glanced at their faces, trying to sense their emotions. Another one of my ghostly abilities was that I could sometimes sense the emotions of others.
I focused on Tucker first. He was concerned and confused. Makes sense, we've always shared everything with each other.
I focused on Sam. Her emotions were kind of mixed, she was worried, angry, and a little upset.
"No," I replied.
Sam looked suspicious but didn't push further, "How are those stitches?" she asked. I glanced at my arm which was covered by a long sleeved white shirt. I pulled up the sleeve to look at the injury from earlier in the week. It was fully healed, and only a small scar remained.
"All better. See? Everything is fine," I told her, "As for the ghosts, maybe there's something going on in the Ghost Zone or they've all decided to leave Amity Park alone."
Both my friends looked skeptical, "You're not telling us something Danny. What are you hiding?" Sam accused.
"I'm not hiding anything," I replied.
"Dude c'mon, whatever it is you can tell us," Tucker said.
I stood up angrily, "I'm not hiding anything! Quit asking me!" I shouted.
The restaurant went silent, everyone's attention was on the three of us. I stormed out of the restaurant. I went to the back of the restaurant and almost walked straight into Fright Knight.
"Man, you gotta stop doing that," I said walking around my ghost bodyguard. "Apologies sire, but I have urgent news," spoke Fright Knight.
I froze, my back to Fright Knight, "And it would be?"
"Your presence has been requested at Phantom's Keep," Fright Knight answered. I sighed, so much for my relaxing weekend. "Alright, let's go," I said letting two white rings wash over me.
I started to fly towards home but Fright Knight grabbed my ankle. "You are needed right away, we shall travel on my steed," he spoke.
Fright Knight let out a shrill whistle and his black horse, Nightmare, came galloping out of the shadows.
Fright Knight climbed onto the horses back and pulled on the reins, "Mount the horse sire, we are already running behind." Reluctantly, I floated up and sat myself behind Fright Knight on Nightmare.
The Spirit of Halloween drew his sword and sliced it in the air, opening a portal to the Ghost Zone. 'I have got to get Clockwork to teach me that' I thought. With a snap of the reins, Nightmare reared then galloped straight into the portal.
A/N: So I will be posting two chapters today (because they are connected) and after that I should be updating every other day at least(yay a schedule!!).
