Contradicting Emotion

Curling into the last moments,

I await the darkness still;

Holding onto every gasp, making emptiness my thrill.

But your voice,

It awakens me from these alluring dares,

And it carries me high until my eyes burn with illuminating shine.

But,

Even though it's torturing,

It's the most beautiful sensation,

With such melancholy that I can feel the world slipping away.

It's only you that can make me cringe this way,

I know I love you,

But I desperately need you to get away.

Still,

To lose you would make me scream;

But this emotion's a nightmare, not a dream.

So, I'll keep contradicting myself while you sit on your throne,

Acting as if you're happily alone;

We both have our demons, I know that's true,

But I'll cherish yours,

If you'll love mine too....
