I walked into the narrow hallways of the school corridor, on my way to my locker since school hours are over and it's time to go home. I walked faster as I felt multiple eyes on me and I quickly check my appearance. Is there something on my face? Is my jeans torn? I decided to ignore the looks I get from people and quickly walk myself to my locker until someone knocked me down and I fell straight on my bum as my notes and books went flying everywhere, earning extra looks from people and laughs from around the corner. Tears immediately pricked my eyes as I stood up again, dusting the sleeves of my cardigan.
"Oops.." I hear a familiar voice as I look up to see Derek-the captain of the school basketball team, also the most popular guy in Shades Valley High. That Derek who girls run after, that Derek who was my first crush, that Derek who was my first bully. I never thought he would turn out to be a jerk. I ignore the smirk he has on his face and bent down to pick up my notes. I spent a whole five hours on it and now it's all ruined. "Don't you dare ignore me, bitch" he grabbed my neatly tied ponytail and pulled me up, facing his dark grey eyes. He was a few inches taller than me and what made me scared was that he was a guy.. I absolutely hate guys. They're nothing but devils to me, abusive ones, mean ones. I'm absolutely terrified now, thinking what he could do to me in front of these people as I tried stopping the tears but it wouldn't. shit
"Aww honey, leave this poor girl" a familiar female voice spoke from behind him. Tiffany-the most popular girl in SVHS. She's only popular because she's dating Derek. Without Derek she's nothing here but a normal student. We were friends during freshman year but everything changed after she got along with Derek and his 'gang'. He slowly loosen his grip around my ponytail as I relaxed myself and mentally thanking Tiffany. The smirk from their faces were still there. It's all a part of their plan, I know it.
"I'm leaving you this time. But next time I see you around here, you're dead!" he says, his voice raspy and high, making the hair behind my back rise. I look down as everyone started doing their own work and the hallway became the usual fish market.
I picked up my books and continued my journey to the locker, silently praying no one else saw me. Thankfully, there was no one there but me. I quickly grabbed my homework and shoved it into my bag and zipped it. I walked out of the school gate with my backpack on my right shoulder. The sky is dark grey, the sun was slowly covered by the dark clouds and it looked like it was about to rain; heavily. Knowing it would rain, I started walking faster since I forgot my umbrella at home. I'm such an idiot.
Soon I was about 20 blocks away from my house and being the unluckiest girl in the world, it started raining.. more like pouring. I use my black and red Nike backpack as my umbrella as I walk into the dark and quiet alley. The silver, rotten garbage bins were falling from a high stack at the corner due to the strong wind. I'm sure my light brown hair was a mess by now.
I jumped over the puddle with my bag still on my head. A tall, muscular guy ran pass by me, letting his arms brush against mine and I flinch, making me lose balance and the bag on my head falls straight into the muddy puddle. "shit!" I mumble rather softly. The guy turned around, so now he's facing me. fuck
"I'm so sorry!" he apologizes, looking straight into my eyes. His blue eyes were mesmerizing. It was the color of the ocean. His accent is thick. It wasn't the same old British accent I hear every day, it was different. I immediately look away after realizing what I was doing. God Diana, looks doesn't matter. He is still a devil in the inside. I reminded myself that sentence everyday.
I quickly grab my now muddy backpack and started walking out of the alley and to the busy road. I could hear footsteps walking behind me and I knew who he was. He was the same guy. I walked faster as I saw my house at the end of the road.
