“Hmmm.” I stare at the racks in my closet and start tossing out winter oriented clothing items that I wouldn’t consider wearing until November. It was mid-August and school started in a week and a half so it was time for me to go through my wardrobe and plan out my outfits. My mom thought I was smart about doing this so I didn’t have to worry about it every night. I did it once every two weeks. I would plan out outfits over a two week basis so I could focus on other things, like studying.

I pull out some of my favorite jeans, staring at the one pair for a moment. They were the first pair I had ever bought in Los Angeles. I pick out ten of my fifteen pairs of jeans to wear over the first two weeks. I turn around and face my racks of t-shirts. After picking another ten shirts, I set them with the jeans on the floor and walk over to the shoes. Should I even say how many pairs I have? I stare at the boots, converse sneakers, my running shoes, sandals, and my expansive collection of flip-flops. I browse the flip-flops, looking for my black ones with the rhinestones on the straps. I toss a few pairs of my knock-off UGG boots out of the closet towards the pile, and hear an “Oof.”  I turn around.

Shouldn’t the boots have landed on my hoodies and long sleeve T’s?  Aaron is standing in front of the pile watching me. “You seriously need to stop doing that.”

“What do you mean?” His eyes practically mirror mine. They’re a darker blue than mine but we have the same hair.

“Coming in my room and waiting for me to notice you. You don’t say anything either.”

“Right, that. Well, as your twin wouldn’t you expect me to be like you in some aspects?”

“What’s that supposed to mean? I know I have done some weird things but I don’t do that.”

“Never mind, I want to talk to you about something.”

“What?”

“Jeremy.”

“Uh-huh.”

“I don’t trust him.”

“Why?”

“Taylor, I know for you some things are hard to realize. But this kid, he’s older than us. He’s a celebrity so it’s not like you can believe everything you read about him. I understand you like him as a celebrity crush but if he tries to date you…”

He trails off and stares at the ground, his bangs that he usually has side swept fall over his eyes. “Aaron, I don’t know if I want any relationships right now. But things can change.”

“That’s what I fear. I just don’t want this to end up anything like what Tyler did.”

Now it’s my turn to stare at the ground. I tug at my black running shorts and then adjust the left sleeve of my purple t-shirt. “Please don’t bring that up.”

“Just clean up your war room.” He turns and leaves my room. Jackson sticks his head in shortly after.

“What’s he so peeved about?”

I just look at my brother and say “Would you go pack for college like mom has been trying to make you for the past 2 weeks.”

I’m in my room putting on a white V-neck over top of my bikini after finishing my outfit decisions for school. I grab my camera bag off the floor and tuck my phone in my pocket. I put my silver flip-flops on and walk downstairs. “Where are you off to?” Jackson is in the living room sitting on one of the brown leather couches.
