Thank you, BarakAllahu feekum to all of you who despite the pain and torture the last chapter caused in your hearts, were mature enough to understand why I included it in the story and appreciated my efforts. Your comments made me so happy alhamdulilah, in return to which I pray that may Allah keep you all happy.💞

Abu Hurairah RA reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Allah, the Exalted, says: 'I have no reward except Jannah for a believing slave of Mine who shows patience and anticipates My reward when I take away his favourite one from the inhabitants of the world.'"

Chapter 40:

Treading on thorns and broken glass

In the journey of life, we meet a lot of people, some with whom we click and others that fade with time. The relationships we establish have a deep impact on us, either positive or negative.

A lot of people associate the amount of time they spend with someone as a scale to measure the depth of the relationship they share with them. 'I've known him all my life,' they state, as if that means they really know the person to depth.

A lifetime may vanish and yet you may stay strangers to people around you, and sometimes, just sometimes, life may bless you with that one person whom you could share just one glance and connect like the world didn't exist with the two of you together.

The amount of time Dina had spent with Bilal may seem too little when her whole life was concerned. Two years was supposed to be small in comparison to what they had planned together, which included growing old in each other's presence, experiencing every joy and sorrow with arms locked around the other.

And yet, every moment she had lived with him would last her till eternity.

The feel of his touch.

The sight of his lopsided grin.

The smell of his presence.

The fluttering of her heart their intimate moments would ignite.

The way he said her name like no one else.

The hope he kindled in her.

The comfort he provided.

The way his fingers fit her own.

The manner in which his soul embraced her soul.

The smiles that he gifted her.

The worries that he kissed away.

His encouragement when she was feeling low.

His protectiveness when she was hurt.

His love for her in which she basked.

His care that nurtured her to the last.

She could not live a life without him, she just couldn't.

The relationship between a husband and wife could never be overstated even if you tried - because every good word you uttered in its reference, it was nothing but true. It's hard to describe the bond that the couple united in the bond of love shares and it is suffice to say it's the kind you cannot share with someone else. With a mixture of love and companionship, commitment and concern, care and compromise, affection and loyalty, two people go from strangers to occupying a big chunk of the lover's heart. Something you cannot establish with anyone else.
