TRIS POV (1 day later)
You know how sometimes you have those moments when nothing seems real? Those moments when you just stare ahead with a face that lacks emotion? When there are so many questions going through your head that you don't know what to do but mute your mind and feelings? So many questions that you just mute your entire life and just stare ahead mindlessly?
Just trying to mute your entire life and ignore the things that are happening now, in real life, not in that dream that we all have for life. The dream where everything is perfect, where you get everything you want and everyone is happy. You just try and wish for that dream to come true and when something finally happens that makes you realize that's not what real life is it feels like everything is crashing down. Like you cant hold all the weight that we all carry on our shoulders anymore and finally you fall the ground.
I stare at the torn apart place around me. The torn apart place that I used to call my home. I walk along the pavement leading to my front door which is now just a gaping hole. I walk into the hallway where all the pictures of the family hung and now I just see a cracked wall with no pictures on it and I try to avoid all the glass, which I assume is from the picture frames, that covers the floor. I walk into the living room where my mother used to sit in the now knocked over rocking chair and knit and past the couch where my father would read the newspaper every morning. I glace at the torn apart dining room and kitchen where I learned to cook with my mom and the table where we would sit down every evening and talk about the events of the almost finished day. I then start walking upstairs.
Everything up here is almost gone. There are gaps in the floors, the rooms are torn apart, whole walls are missing. I slowly open the door, which is hanging barely on the hinges, into my room. The window is shattered, my bed tossed in front of my closet door, my desk knocked over on its side. I look around and start to pick up all the things that are still intact. I grab tobias' sweatshirt he gave to me, my old childhood teddy bear, this old blanket that I kept in a jar that I used to sleep with. Then I slip into my closet. Most of my stuff in here wasn't badly affected my the storm. I grab the 6 empty laundry baskets I had up there and start stuffing clothes in them. I got all of my clothes and tobias' clothes. The only things I didn't grab were some skimpy dresses that chris got for parties, which I hated, and tobias' old chuck taylors that he was going to get rid of anyways.
Right when I am about to walk out of the room I see a bit of blue. I look and see tobias' statue. I grab it a bury it in the clothes. As I am heading out of the door I run into tobias. He asks me something but I don't catch it. He just takes some of the baskets as I mindlessly stare forward and walk out of the house.
