I've been in a car for 14 hours. I want to die. I have contemplated jumping out but then I fell asleep. Ughhhhh
TRIS POV
I wake up in a bed with Tobias sitting beside me. I move, to sit up and feeling a powerful but painful sensation in my shoulder.
"Hey, hey. Stay still we don't want you ripping your stitches sweetie." I women says behind me, " you better wake him up, he said he wouldn't move until you woke up."
"Where am I and what happened." I say touching a sore spot on my head. That's gonna bruise.
"The infirmary. There was a gunshot and it just happened to connect with your shoulder. The head is just a little bruise. When Laurie through you down. Lucky. You could have been shot in the head." She said. Lauren saved me. I notice Tobias has his arm wrapped up.
"Tobias?" I say quietly
"Huh?"
"What happened to your arm?" I ask
"Wait. Bea! Oh my god are you okay?" He comment, vote, and share if you liked this jumping up. Wincing slightly.
"Yea I'm fine. Are you?" I ask concerned.
"Yea. It didn't go through just got the side." He says pointing towards a bullet that he had in his hand. Cleaned, "You on the other hand needed stitches."
"Fuck," I mumbled, "wait. Needed?
"Yea. Steph here fixed you up while you were out." He says pointing to the nice nurse from earlier.
"I don't understand. Why are people here?" I ask
"People, well the dauntless, they're coming back. To the compound at least." He says
"Why?"
"To train more people. Many of the former factions are still separated but for some reason the dauntless are coming back. A lot of them to. You should see the cafeteria. Almost half of us are back."
"Half? How many is that?" I ask Steph.
"Easily about 3,000 probably more." She replies casually.
"3,000?" I ask in disbelief
"Eh probably more. We are doing a count tomorrow. We are finally coming back together." She says smiling and then walking away.
"I want to go see them." I say.
"You should rest."
"Tobias I already have the stitches and medicine. I can go." I argue.
"Okay fine. Stephanie! We're leaving!" Toby yells.
"Okay! See you guys later." She yells back.
We walk into the cafeteria and I look around. This can't be happening. So many people are here. A sea of black. Oddly I feel... I feel at home here.
Tobias starts walking towards a table. Surprisingly I see all my friends. All dressed in black.
"Hey trissy-poo" uri says.
"Dammit Uriah I thought we grew out of that."
"Nah" he says as I sit down.
Several hours later. I finished my training more the day. Tobias is actually great at teaching us. I turn towards the boy next to me. Running a hand through his brown hair as he sleeps peacefully.
"I like it here," I say, to no one in particular.
"You do?" Tobias says opening his blue eyes.
"Yea, I do."
"Goodnight. I love you." He says.
"I love you too."
