As I danced around my room blasting music, the sound lowered and a ding rang out. It was a text message. I pressed the button turning my phone on and saw the message from Braxton.
"Hey!" The message bubble read, so I typed back, "Hi."
We chatted for a while about nothing in particular until, "Ooohhh, who are you texting?" Joe came and jumped on my bed, "Is it a boy? Do you have a boyfriend?!" He tried to look at my screen, but I quickly turned off my phone. His pout made me laugh, well I was laughing until he called Andy.
Andy only took a few seconds to arrive, "Your kid is texting a boy!"
Andy looked at me, "No dating until you're twenty Øne."
My jaw dropped, "Fine! But how does Joe even know I was texting a guy, it could've been Livey."
"Don't know," Andy told me, "Phil wants to talk to you and Olivia."
"I'll get Livey," I stated and left them in my room. I got Livey and we met Phil downstairs.
When I saw him I put on a big smile and made my voice mimic a British accent, "'ello Phil! What do you need to speak about this fine evening?"
Phil did not look amused, instead his face stayed in a blank expression and he got straight to the point. "I need to tell you guys something. It has a big part of the reason why I adopted Livey." Phil took a deep breath and continued, "I used to have a wife and a daughter, until there was a house fire. I wasn't there, I simply went to the store for a few minutes.
"When I got back to my house, it was surrounded by police and ambulances. They were gone before they got to the hospital.
"After Andy decided to adopt Korinna, I decided to give fatherhood another try. Olivia, you actually resemble my daughter. I think that's why I'm so protective of you."
Livey gave him a hug with tears rolling down her face. Phil also looked ready to cry, and I didn't want to break up their moment, so I walk to Andy's room. I let my knuckle hit the door a few times before I entered.
"Hey, Andy. I don't think I've told you how much I appreciated you adopting me or thanked you, so I'm doing for now," I told him as I plopped on the side of him on the bed.
He shook his head as he wrapped his arms around me, "No, no. Don't tank me, I already love you as though you have been my daughter forever."
"Thanks... Dad."
Andy have me a bright smile and kissed my forehead."Hey, Dad, can Olivia and I have some friends over?" I asked.
"Yea," Andy answered.
I texted Braxton, Jack, and Zack if they wanted to come over while Olivia texted Thomas. They all texted back saying they were coming, so I texted them the address and told them to their guitar or bass."Are you ready to see your boyfriend, Livey?" I teased as she got ready. She put on a little extra makeup on and a nicer tøp.
I didn't really care how I looked, so I just threw on a random band shirt and some skinny jeans. Because I wanted to try something other than leaving my hair down, I did a Dutch braid.
Livey made a weird scream, "He's not my boyfriend!"
"But you want him to be!"
"What? No! Yes!" She admitted and continued to get ready. Her face scrunched up as I giggled.
"Kor! Liv! Your friends are here!" Pete shouted as Olivia put the final touches to her outfit. I left her in the room and went downstairs where the guys gawked at Pete.
"I know I'm hot, but dang guys, calm down," Pete joked at the group in front of him.
"The only way you'd be hot is if you're in the Sahara in the middle of summer," I told him, which was a lie. I mean come on now, he was one of my more handsome 'uncles'. No one could deny that. "Pete, this is Jack, Zack, Thomas, and Braxton." The boys in front of me were still not paying attention as they were to busy staring at the bassist in front of them. I slapped them them each on the back of their heads. "Get your junk together, aren't you supposed to be professional around other music people?"
Pete laughed at my comment. I dragged them upstairs and in to my room where Livey waited. She was nonchalantly 'playing' on her phone. This girl was trying hard to look natural.
"Hey, guys," she greeted them, then gave Tom a hug. As they hugged, Tom whispered something in her ear making her giggle.
"Why is Pete Wentz in your house?" Jack asked confused.
"Actually, this is Fall Out Boy's and Phil's house," I corrected him. "Andy adopted me while Phil adopted Livey."
"That's so cool!" Zack gushed and he held up his hand for a high five. I met his hand and smacked it.
"Are we gonna break out the guitars or what?"
Brax gasped, "Are you just using us for our guitar skills and personal shows?" I just noticed the guys, well all of them except Tom, carried gig bags.
"Maybe," I told him. "I'll go ask Pete if they gave any amps for us to use, y'all can come if you want." They followed me to Pete's room.
"Pete," he jumped as we walked in, "Do you guys have any amps that we can use?"
He grumbled, "Not if you are going to scare me."
"Please, Pete! I'm sorry." I whined and made a puppy dog face.
"Fine, I'll show you where."
Pete led us to a room I haven't explored, "Don't break anything!" He opened the door. It had instruments scattered around, including a drum set.
"Can we use the drums?"
"Ask Andy."
"Since you are leaving can you tell him to come then, please."
"Sure."
"Ok, guys, you heard the small man, 'Don't break anything'. Plug your guitars or basses in and let's get this show on the road," I directed.
After everything was set up, we took a moment to admire the great room. This is where some of the magic happens, it's where Fall Out Boy practices.
