Life as an Avenger wasn't easy. It never was, actually: with all the threats and enemies to stop, particularly following the Ultron event, being a member of the mightiest team of superheroes in the world brought an entirely new level of difficulty. And a lot of expectations of course, from the population, who saw you as powerful beings able to stop all evil while saving each lives at stake. Thing was, lives couldn't always be saved...

But even as a mighty Avenger, you could still get a break from time to time. In fact, everyone could. Which is why, thanks to you, the entire team was going fishing (except for Banner, who remained M.I.A, and Thor, who was God knows where).

The funny thing was, half the team, maybe even more, had absolutely no idea how to fish. You had a bit of experience yourself, although not enough for being called a pro. Only a small knowledge of how the equipment worked, but it couldn't get farther than that.

You were still drifting in your thoughts when the car stopped abruptly its path on the dirt road. It didn't take long for you to open the door and throw your feet off the vehicle, admiring this new scenery: a beautiful wooden chalet laid on the field, right in front of the lake that you could admire from behind the building. The sky was coloured with a clear blue, as it was still midday, without a single cloud in sight. You sighed of relief: you knew this was going to be an awesome weekend.

You turned to Natasha, the driver of the car you were in, then Wanda and Vision, who exited the backseat.

"Are you guys ready to have fun?" you exclaimed happily, hands on your hips.
"Surely." chuckled Wanda.
"I still don't understand the concept of fishing, but I guess that the weekend will indeed be fun." added Vision, confused by human mores as usual.
"Now, where are the guys?" asked Natasha, looking at the road with a troubled expression.

Right as she finished speaking, the second car, which was more of a minivan, turned in the dirt driveway, stopping a few meters away from the first vehicle. The doors opened, revealing the boys in an heated argument.

"But I told you to turn left in the beginning!" yelled Steve at Tony, who was the driver.
"Yeah, and you were wrong." he denied with a smirk.
"What? We didn't even turn right in the past hour!"
"Why are you guys arguing anyway?" interjected Clint. "We've been going straight forward for thirty minutes!"

The area fell silent for a couple of seconds, but everyone bursted out laughing at the stupidity of the situation not long after. Soon enough, the team began unloading the vehicles, impatient to enjoy their trip.

It wasn't long before everyone reunited on the beach, ready to go fishing. Nobody wanted to waste the rest of this beautiful and sunny day. While Natasha, Wanda and Vision stayed at the lodge to organize, the rest of the team formed pairs with each other, the boats only allowing two persons and their equipment at a time. You, of course, went with your best friend (and secretly crush) Bucky, who was happy to team up with you.
