Chapter 8

I sat in my room on the floor with Maya in my lap. We were all mostly packed other then a few things. It had only taken us a couple of day's. The day after Nathan offered his house to us, we all went out and had a look at it. Everyone claimed room's that day. Lizzie insisted that me and Maya now start to share a room -which didn't bug me in the slightest- so we took the biggest room, in the house, it was on the top floor, and looked out of the woods.

Now the strange, but nice thing about this house -or mansion- was that it's in a cliff face. Not even joking. Nathan said that his great grand father built it in the 1900's and his family has been taking care of it for years, they had to rebuild it in the earlier 1980's because it was starting to break apart. So they blew out a new spot in the cliff face, making it slightly farther back, and it was built.

Everyone was amazed at the mansion. Even fell in love with it. I mean if you look at the outside and where it's at you know you would think the Cullen's lived it it or something, but if you go inside, it really does look like a werewolf house. And no I'm not saying Vampire's are real, I was just making a comparison.

"Nathan." A hand waved in front of my face. "Earth to Nathan." I shook my head and look at Maya waving a hand in my face.

"Sorry." I weakly smile at her.

"You alright Nath? You were zoned out for a while." Maya says giving me a slightly worried look.

"I was just thinking about the house, and everything else." I tell her with a shrug.

"Alright." She smiles, kissing my cheek. I smile wrapping my arms back around her stomach, and kiss her cheek, as she leans into me.

"Maya," I say, she looks as me.

"Yeah?" She asks.

"You know how we're like, you know, mate's?" I didn't know how to say that really.

"Nathan what are you trying to say?" Maya asks. 

"I just-" How do I put this? Just be strait forward. "Maya, will you be my girlfriend?" I ask her.

"You know Nathan just because we're mate's doesn't mean I have to be your girlfriend." Maya snap's getting up from my lap.

What just happened? I sit there on the floor wide eyed and speechless. Seriously, what just happened?! One day she love's me then the next she doesn't want to be my girlfriend!

"Of course I'll be your girlfriend Nathan." Maya whisper's in my ear before kissing my cheek and running out of the door laughing. She was messing with me!

I jump up from the floor and run down the stairs looking for Maya. I find her hiding behind Max and Tom. "Maya that wasn't nicely!" I exclaim. Max and Tom laugh. Figures they already know what happened.

"What ya gonna do about it Sykes?" She ask's still laughing. I give Tom and Max look's before they move out the way giving me a perfect view of Maya. "Trator's." She mutter's under her breath. Tom and Max smirk before walking out of the room.

"Now you just asked me what I was going to do about you not being nicely. And this is what I am going to do about it." I say grabbing her waist and slamming my lip's down on her's. Maya kiss back, putting her arms around my neck.

"Nathan and Maya sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first come's marriage, then come's baby in a baby carriage!" I hear Emily and Jay shout in the background. I chuckle pulling out of the kiss.

"Jay your such a little kid." I laugh at Jay picking Emily up. "And you, need to not be so noise! And don't got sayin' it was Jay's idea! I know better Emily Ann!" I say tickling her. Emily giggle's and some how manage's to get away from me. The lucky child she is.

"I'm going to go and make sure that little monster has packed all of her toy's." Maya says kissing my cheek before running upstairs.

"Nathan can I talk to you?" Jay asks.

"Sure mate." I tell him.

"Nathan, I know this is crazy, and I'm going to tell you everything first so you might understand this better." Jay says running a hand threw his hair, and sitting down.

"Jay is something wrong?" I ask sitting next to him.

"Well that's the problem I don't know if it's wrong or not." He sighs.

"Jay just come out with it." I say.

"So you know how I'm with Emily all the time now?" I nod, raising my eye brow. "Well I've just had this protective feeling over her, and the day that you carried her in after that fight my heart broke..." I look Jay over, and give him a puzzled look.

"Jay are you saying, what I think you might be saying?"

"Nathan... I think Em might be my mate." Jay say's running his hands threw his hair before, putting his face in them. "What am I going to do? There's a huge age gap and she will always see me as a brother, and I'm going to be an old fart by the time she's 18, and- I just don't know, what to do."

"Jay I am going to tell you something." I put my hand on Jay's shoulder as he looks up at me. "Jay did you know that we don't really age while we are still shifting? Meaning in the time of our life where we are able to shift into our wolf, we don't age. We stay the same." I tell him.

"Wait so does that mean Emily's going to-" I shake my head cutting Jay off.

"No. Emily will age and grow until she turn's 18, then she will slowly stop aging. Remember Maya first shifted when she was 16, but she still aged."

"So I might have a chance, if Em understand's later on?" Jay asks.

"Well you're gonna want to talk to Lizzie about it, and if she understand's then you could explain it all to Emily now. Personally I would wait until she was a little older, but make sure you clear this with Lizzie first."

"Thank you Nathan. I'm sorry for being an ass when you came back. I was just pissed that you left, and that Maya was so hurt. I'm really sorry Nath, your my brother, and I shouldn't have done that." Jay says pulling me into a hug.

"It's all good Jay. I would have done the same if I was you." I tell him, hugging him back. "Now go talk to Lizzie." I push Jay off the couch and he gives me one last smile before running up the stairs.
