Chapter 12

Jay

I lift my head up after a loud pounding started in it. I look around and find I'm not in a bed. I'm not even at home. I let out a yawn and it comes out strange. I look down at myself and find I'm in my wolf.

Memories from yesterday fly into my mind. I look down finding Emily sitting curled into my side. I lick the side of her head and watch her for a while. In just a few years she will be mine. But I now have the gut feeling that after this... Lizzie will take Emily away from me. Nathan would never even let me be in a room alone with her.

I know that they don't want me going threw what I did so long ago, but anything to keep Emily safe they would do. Even if it killed me.

"Jay?" I break from my thoughts and look down at Emily.

"Hey Em. Feel alright?" I ask her.

"I'm hungry. But I'm alright. It's a little cold too." She says moving closer to me.

"I can't do much about you being hungry until we get home Em. But the cold I can." I tell her nuzzling my face on her's.

"Can we go home Jay?" She said looking up at me.

"Yeah come on, we should head home so everyone know's we're alright." I say standing. Emily stands next to me. She has grown over night. Her head now reaches my shoulder, meaning she's about the size of a German Sheppard.

"Em look how big you've grown over night." I chuckle. She spins in a circle. 

"Mum and Nathan are gonna be so happy! I'm almost as big as Maya!" Emily exclaims happily.

"Yeah you are. Now come on big girl. We've got a long run ahead of us." I tell her with a laugh. I look over Em as she move's around. Maybe I should just tell her. Maybe she would understand.

"Em," I say. 

"Yeah JayBird?" She asks.

"Em I need to tell you something, this might scare you a little alright?" I tell her.

"Your not leaving right Jay?" She sounded worried.

"No Em, I'm not." I look around for a second. "Em you know what Maya and Nathan are right? Not just boyfriend and girlfriend."

"They're mate's right?" She says.

"That's right. Well Emily I've found mine."

"Which means your not going to spend as much time with me." She sounded so sad.

"No Em. I'm going to be spending all of my time with you. Em I know this is hard to believe, but we're mate's Em. Me and you, mate's. I know it's a little weird to hear, but it's true. I wouldn't ever say something like this to you unless it was true." I tell her.

"Really?" She says.

"I'm not lying. You can even ask Nathan or Lizzie when we get home." I say.

Em runs over to me nuzzling her face with mine. "I believe you Jay."

"Good. Love you Em." I say.

"Love you too Bird." She says.

I run out of the cave with Em right behind me. "Look at all of the snow!" Em cheers. I move my foot so snow fly's at her. She stops and shake's it away from her face. "Not cool!" I laugh at her and keep running.
