Nathan
I paced back and forth in the living room. Lizzie and Maya sat watching me. I wasn't very happy right now. Truly I was livid right now. It was 6 right now and Emily want meant to be back an hour ago. I know who she is with. There isn't on doubt in my mind that she is with Jay. For God sake's they never left each other's side's before...
"No..." I whisper to myself. I run my hands threw my hair. "No, they can't be right. It's not true." I shake my head.
"You know I'm going to ground that girl for the rest of her life. She's an hour late." Lizzie grumbles.
"No you wont be." I say before any thought even runs threw my mind.
"What?" Lizzie asks. Maya gives me a look as if to watch what I'm about to say and do.
"Your not going to ground her. I'm sure she is with Jay and is perfectly safe." I tell her.
"You think she is safe with Jay?! Nathan, Emily now looks like she's 16! Jay might not stop himself from doing something to her!" Lizzie shouts.
"Yes he will! Jay know's right from wrong! He wouldn't dream of hurting Emily! That's not who Jay is." I shout back. "Have you even thought about what Jay and Emily have both said? About us not spending time with Emily? I know that it's damn true! They are always together, and you know why? Because none of us was with them! With Emily!" Lizzie looked taken back by my works. Maya had stood up and come to my side.
"You do not speak to me like that Nathan James Sykes! I would never ignore my daughter! I couldn't think of doing something like that!" Lizzie snaps at me. I hold my ground. I'm not giving up without a fight anymore. I'm tired of being pushed around now.
"Oh really Lizzie? I believe when me and the other boys were around Emily's age, you ignored us for some time because you had Maya. Then you ignored Maya when Emily was first born. Now your too ignoring Emily because you've got your little pack together. All you seem to care about is me and Maya being perfect pack leaders." I snap back at her.
"I want you two to be perfect pack leader's so you can look after everyone! Someone is going to have to look after Emily and everyone else! So I'm trying to get you ready!" Lizzie yells falling back on the couch.
"Well then I think you've done your job." I say grabbing Maya's hand and walking up to our room.
"Nathan did you mean what you said?" Maya asked me.
"Which part?" I sigh. I meant most of that. I'm just so tired of trying to live up to Lizzie's expectaion's. She was always telling me that I was going to do amazing thing's to keep this family going... And now I've seen what I'm needed to do. It's just so hard to do those things with her looking over my shoulder.
"All of it." Maya says sitting down on the end of the bed.
"I did mean most of it. I get that she's your mum love, she's like mine too, but it's about time that Lizzie found someone and left us. She wants us to look after everyone, and I don't see how that's going to work if she is looking over our shoulder's the whole time." I tell her sitting down next to her. I grab Maya's hand kissing the back of it. She leans her head on my shoulder.
"Do you think it would be better to let Emily stay with Jay, and let the boys move out, and just me and you raise a family on our own?" Maya asks.
Maya rests a hand on her growing stomach. I can't believe that in suck a short time, we were able to make a little human. Maybe someday that little human can take over the pack. Find their own mate.
"I don't know love. I mean I am worried about Emily and Jay being together. But at the same time I'm not." I look out over the woods. We had the perfect view you could see everything. "It's not like the boys are here most of the time anyways. They're always at their girlfriend's house's. So maybe we should." I didn't know what I thought about letting everyone just move out yet. I wanted us to all stay close. We still needed to stay a pack.
