Chapter 4

"You liar!" - Harry Potter

The next morning we all had breakfast before traveling to Diagon Alley via the floo network. I arrived after Fred and we headed to the bookstore first. "Where's Harry?"

"Probably behind us." Ron shrugged. I frowned and followed Fred and George. As we entered the bookstore, there appeared to be a huge event taking place. A man was standing proudly at the front signing books.

"Cindy!" I spun around to see Hermione and Harry.

"Hermione! It's so good to see you. Harry, where've you been?"

"I got lost. I'll tell you later." I nodded.

"It's him, it's Gilderoy Lockhart!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed. Ron rolled his eyes.

"Mom fancies him." At this, he received a whack on the arm. Reporters rushed around trying to get a good picture. Gilderoy Lockhart smiled for the cameras until he spotted us. "Is that? It can't be. It's Harry and Cindy Potter!"

"The twins!" We were shoved until we stood up at the front, next to Gilderoy Lockhart. Threading his arms around us, he grinned at the cameras.

"Nice, big smiles, twins. With the three of us, we'll make the front page." We found ourselves being presented with the entire collection of Gilderoy Lockhart's books before rejoining the crowd. I gave my books to Ron. Lockhart gave me a wrong feeling for some reason and that just irked me.

"Well, well, well! Famous Potter twins. Can't even walk into a bookshop without making the front page." Malfoy appeared from behind us.

"Leave them alone, they didn't want all that!" Ginny stood in front of Harry.

"Alright Potter, you've got yourself a girlfriend!" Malfoy smirked. I kicked him in the shin, hard.

"Why you little-" Malfoy shoved me into a bookshelf. I felt a pain in my elbow and glanced down to see a small cut. I glared at him and he smirked back at me. Harry lunged at him but was held back by Ron.

"Now now, Draco, play nicely." Lucius Malfoy stepped forward. "Lucius Malfoy. Forgive me." And with that, he pushed aside Harry's fringe to reveal his scar. "Powerful mark. As was the wizard who gave it to you."

"Voldemort killed my parents. He was nothing more than a murderer." Harry spat.

"Very brave of you to say his name."

"As opposed to his followers who are too scared to." I whispered. Lucius Malfoy sent me a sharp glare.

"Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself." Hermione spoke up. Lucius Malfoy unwillingly turned to her.

"And you must be Miss Granger. Draco has told me all about you, and your parents." He turned to glance at Mr. and Mrs. Granger. "Muggles, are they?"

"And I don't suppose Draco's told you how Hermione beats him in every subject." I whispered under my breath again only to receive another shove from Draco.

"Children, it's a bit hot in here, what's say we wait outside?" Mr. Weasley seemed to have sensed trouble and come over.

"Well well. Weasley Sr." Mr. Weasley spared him a short glance.

"Malfoy."

"Associating yourself with muggles now? And I thought your family could sink no lower. But judging by the condition of this book, I was obviously wrong." He picked up one of Ginny's schoolbooks from her cauldron. "What's the point of being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it?"

"We have a very different idea of what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy."

"Clearly." He shoved the book back into Ginny's cauldron. "Come on, Draco." He turned back to Mr. Weasley. "See you at work." Then he turned to me. "I suggest you take a good look around you this year and reconsider where your loyalties lie, girl. I will be informing  Severus of your insolence in his absence." He spun on his heel and walked off.

"See you at school." Draco shot me a smirk.

I had to rewrite the entire chapter 2 bc I very recently realized it would contradict what I've written for ch 4.
