"You'll be okay, Harry. You're a great wizard. You really are." - Hermione Granger
-------------------------------------------------------
I awoke to a sharp jab in the ribs. I looked up at Tom Riddle with hazy eyes. To my left, I heard a sigh of relief. "Cindy! You're alright!"
"H-Harry." I whispered weakly. I received another kick to the ribs. I let out a whimper.
"Nice of you to join us, Miss Potter. We had a fun time earlier, didn't we?" The smirk was on his face again.
"Don't touch her!" Harry yelled. "And what did you do to her!"
Tom Riddle continued to smirk. "Little Cindy here and I had a little fun with Cruciatus curse."
"What's that?" Harry frowned. Tom Riddle grinned wider, but did not answer. Instead, he nudged me with his foot.
"Get up, girl." I winced and slowly pushed myself into a standing position. I met his eyes. There was a dangerous gleam in them. He grabbed a strand of my hair. "You will die along with your foolish brother." He let go of my hair and proclaimed: "Let's match the powers of Salazar Slytherin and the famous Potter twins!"
With that, he immediately turned and hissed at the stone figure of Salazar Slytherin. Seconds later, the mouth began to slide down, revealing a giant hole. I heard movement and saw a big shadow emerging. Harry's eyes widened as he grabbed me and began running. "Don't look!" We raced towards the other end of the Chamber as I suddenly heard a sqwack from a bird. "Fawkes." Harry whispered. Suddenly, I heard the basilisk hiss in pain followed by Tom Riddle's furious voice.
"Your bird may have blinded the basilisk but he can still hear you!" I immediately spun around to see the basilisk advancing on us.
"Harry, go the other way." I whispered urgently as I dashed off extra loudly. I could clearly hear the basilisk slithering behind me. I raced into a series of tunnels within the Chamber as it followed closely behind. I ran into a dead end soon and I could sense the basilisk approaching me. "Reducto...reducto...reducto..." I closed my eyes and muttered under my breath. The basilisk began to sniff around me. Suddenly, I heard Harry.
"Oi! Coming to get me?" The basilisk turned and began retreating.
"No...no...no." I muttered in exasperation. I chased after the basilisk quietly, caseful not to get bitten. At the other end of the tunnel, I saw Harry leaning against a grate. He picked up a rock and tossed it past the basilisk. I watched as it slithered past me and back into the Chamber. Harry and I gave each other a look and raced forwards. We followed it back to the Chamber from a fair distance. Tom Riddle was peering down at Ginny. We walked up to him. Harry clutched Ginny's ice cold hand as I simply watched Tom.
"Yes, the process is nearly complete. Soon Ginny Weasley will be dead, and I will cease to be a memory. Lord Voldemort will return. Very much alive." He sneered. Harry and I spun around as we heard a big splash from behind. The basilisk had emerged from the water and towered over us. I grabbed Harry's hand and dragged him up. At that moment, I saw something sparkling in a old piece of fabric. Upon closer observation, I noticed it was a hat. Harry sprinted to it and drew out a magnificent sword, encrusted with rubies. I spotted my wand and grabbed it. "Expelliarmus!" I quickly dodged the jet of light.
Harry climbed onto a statue of a snake and I hid behind another. "Reducto!" The jet of light appeared to merely bounce off the snake. I stared in disbelief and horror. Another jet of light came flying at me. I narrowly dodged it again and jumped behind the stone statue.
"Come out and play, little Cindy." I could practically hear the deadly snarl in his voice. "Reducto!" I screamed again, this time aiming at Tom Riddle.
