Max was awake. More confused then ever. Again he was in a totally different place. Bright white all around him, disorientation and fog, inside his head and out. His vision came in flashes like strobe lights. He smelled sweat and the all too familiar smell of hospital. Tiny clips of sound began to slowly manifest.
"....didn't take..." he heard one voice said.
"...subject non-responsive to..." chimed another.
He lay there, thinking, still unable to put together what was happening. He felt like the back of his head was enclosed in a helmet or head gear of some sort. He attempted to feel for it but found his arms were restrained. He moved around as best he could and was greeted with a dull sloshing sound. Max began to feel helpless and frustrated, two emotions that always lead to the third one he was now feeling, anger. It was rising up in him, hot and black inside his head.
"....increase dosage...." a male voice said.
Max's mind was racing, as was his heart. He just couldn't get his mind focused. He started to thrashed as he fought to move and to stay conscious, but no matter his determination, it was inevitably a losing battle and he eventually drifted off to slumber once more.
